Brampton continues to grow and, as it grows, it builds new roads into newly developed areas.
Recently, contractors finished connecting roadways in several new neighbourhoods in Brampton, so Brampton Transit is extending its services along those roads to reach new passengers, starting Monday, October 30.
Chief among those new services is extending the 6 James Potter route further north along its namesake road and Creditview Road to Mount Pleasant Village Terminal, where passengers can connect with GO Transit trains at Mount Pleasant GO Station.
Similarly, BT extends the paths for buses operating along the 31 McVean and 36 Gardenbrooke route into another new community.
It’s also increasing service — or the hours of service — along several other routes:
Brampton Transit is revising service along these routes: 2 Main, 3 / 3A McLaughlin, 4 / 4A Chinguacousy, 5 / 5A Bovaird, 6 James Potter, 18 Dixie, 29 Williams, 30 Airport Road, 31 McVean, 36 Gardenbrooke, 50 Gore Road, 92 Bramalea GO shuttle, 104 Chinguacousy express, 511 Züm Steeles.
Specifically, Brampton Transit is: increasing service along routes; decreasing service along routes; decreasing the frequency of serice along routes; revising the paths for buses operating along routes; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.
Increasing service along routes
4A Chinguacousy
Brampton Transit introduces new service along the 4A branch of the route Monday to Friday evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
(The path for buses operating along the route splits along two branches between Wanless Drive / Brisdale Drive and Worthington Avenue / Bovaird Drive West.)
Starting Monday, October 30, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the branch:
- every 40 minutes Mondays to Fridays from about 8 until 10 p.m.
Starting Saturday, November 4, buses serve passengers at the stops
- every 40 minutes, Saturdays before about 10 p.m.
Starting Sunday, November 5, buses serve passengers:
- every hour Sundays and holidays before about midnight.
BT is also decreasing the frequency of service along the main 4 branch of the route during the same times of the week.

104 Chinguacousy express
Brampton Transit is operating earlier service along the route Monday-to-Friday mornings.
Starting Monday, October 30, it operates buses on two new southbound trips. The buses leave Mount Pleasant GO Station bus terminal at 6:23 and 6:43 a.m. They end their trips in Brampton Gateway Terminal at 6:56 and 7:16 a.m.

18 Dixie
Brampton Transit is increasing service north of Bramalea Terminal late Monday-to-Friday evenings by extending the trips of two northbound buses operating along the route.
The buses that leave Dixie Road north of Meyerside Drive at 10 and 11:08 p.m. continue northward along the route beyond Bramalea. They end their trips on Inspire Boulevard east of Dixie Road at 10:58 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 12:07 a.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays.

36 Gardenbrooke
Brampton Transit is extending the path so that buses operate further north along The Gore Road between Mayfield Road and Gore Meadows Community Centre.
Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a new stop

Brampton Transit is operating an eastbound bus on an earlier trip along the main 511 branch of the route Monday-to-Friday mornings.
Starting Monday, October 30, the first eastbound bus leaves Lisgar GO Station bus terminal at 6:18 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. It ends its trip in Humber College Terminal - or it will once the labour disruption ends - at 7:27 a.m.

However, to provide this service without increasing the budget, it’s also decreasing the frequency of service along the main 4 branch of the route during the same times of the week.

To maintain service along the longer path, BT is decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Brampton Transit is extending the path so that buses operate further north along The Gore Road between Mayfield Road and Gore Meadows Community Centre.
Starting Monday, October 30, southbound buses start their trips on Squire Ellis Road west of The Gore Road, then proceed:
southward along The Gore; and then
westward into Gore Meadows Community Centre loop,

The southbound bus that usually leaves the AMB / Legacy Logistics warehouse at 3:51 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, 37 minutes earlier at 3:14 p.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as 37 minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Westwood Square Terminal at 3:14 p.m.
The southbound bus that usually starts its trip on Mayfield Road east of Airport Road at 11:16 p.m. Mondays to Fridays starts, instead at AMB at 11:14 p.m. It arrives on Mayfield east of Airport at 11:19 p.m. It drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as three minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Westwood terminal at 11:54 p.m.
The southbound bus that usually starts its trip at AMB at 11:41 p.m. starts, instead, on Mayfield east of Airport at 11:46 p.m. The bus then follows its usual schedule, ending its trip in Westwood at 12:20 a.m.
The northbound bus that usually ends its trip on Mayfield east of Airport at 3:10 p.m. continues, instead to the AMB / Legacy Logistics warehouse, ending its trip at 3:14 p.m.

Starting Monday, October 30, the southbound bus that starts its trip on Bramalea Road north of Williams Parkway East at 7:05 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves Jordan Boulevard south of North Park Drive one minute earlier than usually at 7:08 a.m. instead of 7:09 a.m. The bus picks up passengers at stops along the route from one to five minutes earlier than usually. For example, it leaves Finchgate Boulevard north of Clark Boulevard at 7:15 a.m., instead of 7:18 a.m. It ends its trip in Bramalea GO Station bus terminal at 7:23 a.m.

The southbound bus that usually leaves Heart Lake Terminal at 6:59 a.m. leaves, instead, four minutes earlier at 6:55 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as four minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in the Highway 407 / Hurontario Park and Ride carpool lot at 7:44 a.m. By operating the bus on an earlier trip, BT improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains at Brampton GO Station.

Starting Monday, October 30, the westbound bus that usually starts its trip on Williams Parkway East west of Bramalea Road at 2:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, starts, instead, on Williams East west of Torbram Road at 2:44 p.m. The bus arrives on Williams west of Bramalea at 2:48 p.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at all other stations along the route as much as eight minutes later than usually. It ends its trip in Mount Pleasant GO Station bus terminal at 3:20 p.m.
By adjusting the schedule, Brampton Transit improves service for passengers travelling from Chinguacousy Secondary School.
