"Halloween on Church" affects TTC service, October 31

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Church Street between Gloucester and Wood Streets and
  • Wellesley Street East between Jarvis Street and Maitland Terrace

Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning to accommodate the Church - Wellesley Village Business Improvement Area’s annual street party, Halloween on Church.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 94 Wellesley.

From 6:30 p.m. Hallowe’en, Tuesday, October 31 until 2 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellesley Station bus terminal, then detour:

westward along Wellesley Street East;
southward along Yonge Street;
eastward along Carlton Street; and then
northward along Jarvis Street to Wellesley East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Wellesley.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Wellesley Street East at Church and Jarvis Streets.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Yonge Street at Grosvenor Street,
  • on Carlton Street at Church Street and
  • on Jarvis Street north of Carlton Street and at Wellesley Street East.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellesley Street East and Jarvis Street, then detour:

southward along Jarvis;
westward along Carlton Street;
northward along Yonge Street;
eastward along Wellesley Street East; and then
northward into Wellesley Station bus terminal,
resuming their regular route.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Wellesley Street East at Church Street

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Carlton Street at Church and Yonge Streets,
  • on Yonge Street at Alexander Street and Wellesley Street East.
