TTC reducing train speeds on parts of Line 1,
November 28 to December 29

Passengers aboard trains operating along the TTC’s Line 1 Yonge-University subway may experience longer-than-usual travel times over the next few weeks.

The TTC is restricting the speed for the trains as they approach sections of rail requiring maintenance overnight. By reducing the speed as a safety precaution, the TTC allows trains to safely travel through the work zones during service hours.

Reduced speed zones around work areas and other safety measures also protect workers if they need to be at track level to conduct routine or emergency inspections during service hours.

The TTC is restricting train speeds through these sections of Line 1:

  • Northbound between Museum and St George stations: Crews are replacing rail until Monday, December 4.
  • Southbound at St George Station: Crews are replacing rail until Wednesday, November 29.
  • Northbound between St George and Spadina stations: Crews are replacing rail until Monday, December 4.
  • Northbound between North York Centre and Finch stations: Crews are replacing track components until Wednesday, November 29.
  • Both ways between Eglinton and Davisville stations: Crews are rehabilitating track until Friday, December 29.
