The TTC is improving its cautionary warnings on the Spadina streetcar right-of-way to motorists approaching the streetcar tunnel north of Sussex Avenue early Tuesday, December 12 and Wednesday, December 13.
From 12:01 until 5 a.m. each day, crews are adding rumble strips on the concrete track allowance and installing more signs at the bottom of the ramp. They’ll use a milling machine to create the large impressions on the concrete.
The TTC is also detouring streetcars operating along these routes during the project:
Shuttle buses replace the cars between Spadina Station and Queen Street West.

From 10 p.m. Friday, November 17 until 10 a.m. Saturday, November 18, southbound cars start their trips in McCaul Loop (on the west side of McCaul Street north of Queen Street West), then proceed:
southward along McCaul;
westward along Queen West to Spadina Avenue,
resuming their regular route southward along Spadina.Southbound cars skip their regular stops
- in Spadina Station streetcar terminal,
- on Spadina Avenue south of Sussex Avenue and Harbord Street, at Willcocks Street, south of College and Nassau Streets and Dundas Street West and across from Sullivan Street.
Instead, southbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- in McCaul Loop,
- on McCaul Street at Queen Street West and
- on Queen Street West at John and Soho Streets and Spadina Avenue.
Shuttle buses replace the cars north of Queen Street West.
Northbound cars reverse the southbound detour routing.
Northbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Spadina Avenue north of Queen Street West, Sullivan Street and Dundas Street West, across from Nassau Street, north of College Street, at Willcocks Street, north of Harbord Street and north of Sussex Avenue and
- in Spadina Station streetcar terminal.
Instead, northbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Queen Street West at Peter and John Streets,
- on McCaul Street across from Stephanie Street and
- in McCaul Loop.

From 10 p.m. Friday, November 17 until 10 a.m. Saturday, November 18, buses replace streetcars operating along the 310 Spadina overnight and 510 Spadina routes north of Queen Street West. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops beside the curb, instead of the centre-road “island” streetcar stops.
Southbound cars start their trips in Spadina Station bus terminal, then proceed:
southward along Spadina Road, Spadina Avenue, Spadina Crescent and Spadina Avenue to Adelaide Avenue West; and then
eastward along Adelaide West to just east of Spadina Avenue,
ending their trips.Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops
