Officially, this is what the TTC has announced — “a modified schedule” during the holiday period — from Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 23 until New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2018.

Unofficially, though, you should probably expect that the TTC operates buses, streetcars and subway trains with roughly the same level of service as it does during July and August.
During the summer, the TTC provided passengers less frequent service along many bus, streetcar and subway routes, mostly during rush hours, but, in a few cases, also during the Monday-to-Friday “midday” period — from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. — and in one case, early evenings from about 7 until 10 p.m.
Remember, the TTC hasn’t confirmed this information — this is just our educated guess.
And, looking further at the TTC’s service during previous years, you can also expect it to start afternoon rush-hour service earlier than usually Friday, December 22 and Friday, December 29. Expect this earlier service to start about noon.
It will also likely increase service Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as more people take the TTC do last-minute Christmas shopping — or to catch Boxing Day sales — visit friends or take in sights and attractions. Extra weekend and holiday service likely applies:
- Sunday, December 17;
- Saturday, December 23;
- Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24; and
- Boxing Day, Tuesday, December 26.

405 Etobicoke community bus
From Wednesday, December 27 until Friday, January 5, 2018, the TTC adjusts the schedules Monday-to-Friday afternoons.
Buses leave Scarlett Heights at 9:30 and 11 a.m. and 12:30, 2 and 4 p.m. Buses leave #1540 Kipling Avenue at 10:15 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15, 3:15 and 4:45 p.m. The last buses of the day end their trips at 4:45 (Kipling) and 5:30 p.m. (Scarlett).
400 Lawrence Manor community bus
From Wednesday, December 27 until Friday, January 5, 2018, the TTC adjusts the schedules Monday-to-Friday afternoons.
Buses leave No Frills at 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Buses leave Humber River Hospital at 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. The last buses of the day end their trips at each of the terminals at 4:30 p.m.
The TTC also operates buses on partial morning trips. One leaves Caboto Terrace at 9:38 a.m. and ends its trip at the hospital at 10 a.m. Another leaves Baycrest Home for the Aged at 9:44 a.m. and ends its trip at No Frills at 10 a.m.

403 South Don Mills community bus

Southbound buses leave The Shops at Don Mills at 10:08 and 11:23 a.m. and 12:38, 2:23, 3:38 and 4:53 p.m. Northbound buses leave East York Town Centre at 10:45 a.m., noon, 1:45, 3 and 4:15 p.m. The last buses of the day end their trips at East York at 4:15 p.m. and Don Mills at 4:53 p.m.
The TTC also operates a bus on a partial afternoon trip. It leaves Don Mills at 4:53 p.m. and ends its trip on Overlea Boulevard west of William Morgan Road at 5:20 p.m.
