The Toronto Transit Commission meets Thursday, February 15 at 1 p.m. in Committee Room #1, City Hall, 100 Queen Street West.
The commission is the TTC’s board of directors. It oversees matters of policy and planning, building, maintaining and operating the TTC system and expanding its services and facilities.
Commissioners include City of Toronto councillors and members of the public.
During the meeting, the commissioners will discuss staff reports:
- recommending a new strategy for leasing retail space on TTC property. (You can read the report here (.pdf).)
- awarding a contract for geotechnical surveying of the alignment for the future Relief Line subway from north of the GO Transit tracks at Gerrard Street East to Queen Street East. (You can read the report here (.pdf).)
- awarding a contract to rebuild parts of Roncesvalles Carhouse to accommodate the new Toronto Flexity streetcars. (You can read the report here (.pdf).)
The commission will also review:
- a report from the City of Toronto’s Auditor General reviewing TTC procurement policies and practices for WheelTrans contracts with taxicab companies. (You can read the report here (.pdf).); and
- a report from TTC staff responding to the the Auditor General’s report. (You can read the report here (.pdf).)
The commissioners will also consider:
- the Chief Executive Officer’s report for February, 2018. (You can read the report here (.pdf).)
- a report examining the events that resulted in severe overcrowding of interchange stations on Line 1 and recommending long- and short-term strategies to resolve the issue. (You can read the report here (.pdf).)
