York Region Transit revises services, March 4



York Region Transit is making minor changes to its services, starting Sunday, March 4.


YRT is revising service along these routes: 20 Jane; 22 King City; 31 Aurora North; 33 Wellington; 50 Queensway; 77 Highway 7; 105 Dufferin; 107 / 107B Keele; 165 Weston; Dial-a-Ride North; Viva purple.

Specifically, YRT is: increasing service along routes; decreasing service; increasing the frequency of service along a route; revising the paths for buses operating along routes; and adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes.

Increasing service along routes


20 Jane

YRT is revising the path for buses operating along the route so that southbound buses don’t enter Pioneer Village Terminal until after they travel through York University’s Keele campus.

Southbound passengers may exit from buses on Steeles Avenue West at Northwest Gate to connect with the TTC’s Line 1 Yonge - University subway without having to travel to and from the university.

Starting Sunday, March 4, southbound buses drop off passengers at new stops (for this route)

  • on Steeles Avenue West east of Jane Street, Murray Ross Parkway and Northwest Gate.

Buses operating along another YRT route also serve passengers at these stops.

TTC buses also serve these stops

  • Steeles West east of Jane: 35 Jane, 35A Jane via Hullmar, 60 Steeles West, 84D Sheppard West via Oakdale, 335 Jane overnight.
  • Steeles West east of Murray Ross: 35 Jane, 35A Jane via Hullmar, 60 Steeles West, 84D Sheppard West via Oakdale, 108 Driftwood, 335 Jane overnight.

Friday, March 16 is the last day until next December that YRT diverts buses off the regular route to drop off or pick up passengers at the Town of Georgina’s Recreational Outdoor Campus (“The ROC”).

(YRT may cancel service earlier if the weather is no longer suitable for winter outdoor activities.)

50 Queensway

Sunday, March 18 is the last day until next December that YRT diverts buses off the regular route to drop off or pick up passengers at the Town of Georgina’s Recreational Outdoor Campus (“The ROC”).

Increasing the frequency of service along a route


107 / 107B Keele

107B branch

YRT has increased the frequency of service along the branch Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.

Starting Monday, January 22, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the branch:

  • every 17 minutes, instead of every 22 minutes.

YRT is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along both branches of the route.

Revising the paths for buses operating along routes


20 Jane

YRT is revising the path for buses operating along the route so that southbound buses no longer enter Pioneer Village Terminal until after they travel through York University’s Keele campus.

Southbound passengers may exit from buses on Steeles Avenue West at Northwest Gate to connect with the TTC’s Line 1 Yonge - University subway without having to travel to and from the university.

Starting Sunday, March 4, southbound buses operate along their usual route to Jane Street across from the access road into the YRT bus terminal at Pioneer Village Station, then proceed:

southward along Jane; and then
eastward along Steeles Avenue West;
southward along Keele Street;
westward along York Boulevard;
north- and westward along Vanier Lane;
north- and westward along Ian Macdonald Boulevard;
northward along Founders Road;
westward along Steeles West;
northward along Settlers Road; and then
westward into the YRT bus terminal at Pioneer Village Station,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off passengers at new stops (for this route)

  • on Steeles Avenue West east of Jane Street, Murray Ross Parkway and Northwest Gate.

Adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes


31 Aurora North

Starting Monday, March 12, some buses leave Aurora GO Station bus terminal five minutes earlier than usually.

The bus that usually leaves the station at 6:19 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 6:14 a.m. It returns to the station terminal at 6:44 a.m. The bus that usually leaves at 6:58 a.m. leaves, instead, at 6:53 a.m. It returns at 7:23 a.m. The bus that usually leaves at 7:31 a.m. leaves, instead at 7:26 a.m. It returns at 7:59 a.m.

By adjusting the schedule, YRT improves service to passengers connecting with GO Transit trains at the station.

105 Dufferin

Starting Monday, March 5, YRT adjusts the schedules for buses operating along the route Mondays to Fridays.

By adjusting the schedules, YRT reduces overcrowding and improves service for passengers travelling to and from Vaughan Secondary School.

Starting Monday, January 22, the northbound bus that usually leaves Maple GO Station at 8:02 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, six minutes earlier at 7:56 a.m. It drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as six minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip on Seneca College’s King campus at 8:39 a.m.

By adjusting the schedule, YRT improves service for passengers travelling to King City Secondary School.

25 Major Mackenzie

Starting Monday, March 5, the westbound bus that usually leaves Church Street west of Country Glen Road (near Markham Stouffville Hospital) at 6 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, three minutes earlier at 5:57 a.m. It drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as three minutes earlier than usually and ends its trip on Harding Boulevard East east of Addison Street at 6:43 a.m.

By adjusting the schedule, YRT improves service for passengers connecting at Major Mackenzie Drive and Yonge Street with buses operating along the Viva blue route.

33 Wellington

33A branch

Starting Thursday, January 11, the eastbound buses that usually leave Wellington Street West east of McDonald Drive at 6:43 and 7:13 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, three minutes earlier at 6:40 and 7:10 a.m. The buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route as much as three minutes earlier than usually. They arrive in Aurora GO Station bus terminal at 6:49 and 7:19 a.m. They end their trips on St. Johns Sideroad East west of Earl Stewart Drive at 7:07 and 7:40 a.m.

The westbound bus that usually leaves St. Johns East west of Earl Stewart at 7:10 a.m. leaves, instead, three minutes earlier at 7:07 a.m. It drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as three minutes earlier than usually. It arrives in Aurora GO Station bus terminal at 7:25 a.m. It ends its trip on Wellington West east of McDonald at 7:35 a.m.

By adjusting the schedule, YRT improves service for passengers connecting at Aurora GO Station with GO Transit trains along the 65 Barrie line.
