Garth / Sanatorium Hamilton construction:
HSR detour, April 4 to 6



Starting Wednesday, April 4, the City of Hamilton is closing:

  • the intersection of Garth Street with Sanatorium Road

as contractors repair the sewers.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses along this route, while the intersection is closed:

  • 33 Sanatorium.

Sewer repairs at Garth Street and Sanatorium Road and the HSR detour continue until April 6.


33 Sanatorium

From Wednesday, April 4 until Friday, April 6, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Sanatorium Road and West 21st Street, then detour:

northward along West 21st; and then
eastward along Bendamere Avenue to Garth Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Garth.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Sanatorium Road at Garth Street and
  • on Garth Street at Elmwood and Bendamere Avenues.

Outbound buses reverse the inbound detour routing.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Garth Street at Elmwood Avenue and Sanatorium Road.

Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
