Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

Starting “as early as” Tuesday, August 14, crews are revising the traffic pattern on

• Eglinton Avenue East between Celestica Drive and Leslie Street

to support upcoming excavation near the future Sunnybrook Park stop.

The work zone will reduce traffic lanes on Eglinton East to facilitate upcoming activity, including:

• widening the roadway;
• relocating utilities; and
• building a “green” wall.

Crews will maintain one lane for westbound through traffic and two lanes for eastbound through traffic during this part of the project. They may occasionally work overnight from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. “Paid-duty” Toronto Police Service officers will help direct traffic, if necessary.

All open crossings and walkways will remain available to pedestrians.

Expect noise from excavators, bobcats, trucks and other construction equipment, as crews relocate utilities.

• The TTC is temporarily removing eastbound bus stop on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East across from Leslie Street. The next closest eastbound stop is on Eglinton East at Brentcliffe Road. Passengers aboard southbound buses on Leslie Street who wish to travel eastward along Eglinton Avenue East must remain aboard the buses until Brentcliffe, where they can transfer to an eastbound bus along the 34 Eglinton East route.

The TTC may also relocate other bus stops. Construction of the future Sunnybrook Park LRT stop continues to delay buses along these routes:

• 34 Eglinton East;
• 51 Leslie;
• 54 Lawrence East;
• 334 Eglinton East overnight; and
• 354 Lawrence East overnight.

Lane restrictions and excavation near the future Sunnybrook stop and continue “for three months” or until November 17.
