TTC revising routes and services,
October 7

The TTC is revising its routes and services, starting this Sunday, October 7.

It’s:


Revising streetcar service through the King Street pilot area

The TTC is making major changes to improve the reliability of service to passengers.

514 Cherry

Saturday, October 6 is the last day that streetcars operate along the route.

504 King

Starting Sunday, October 7, the TTC splits the route into two branches:

  • 504A (Dundas West Station - Distillery Loop): along Dundas Street West, Roncesvalles Avenue, King Streets West and East, Sumach and Cherry Streets.
  • 504B (Broadview Station - Dufferin Gate Loop): along Broadview Avenue, Queen Street East, King Streets East and West and Dufferin Street.
304 King overnight

Streetcars continue to operate along their current route between Dundas West Station and Broadview Station.

Introducing new express bus service


929 Dufferin express

Starting Tuesday, October 9, express buses operate between Wilson Station and Dufferin Gate Loop. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at express stops every nine to ten minutes Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m.

939 Finch express

Starting Sunday, October 7, express buses operate along the 939B branch of the route between Scarborough Centre and Finch West stations Saturdays, Sunday and holidays before about 7 p.m. The new express service will increase capacity on Finch Avenue West between Finch and Finch West station and reduce crowding for passengers.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at express stops along the 939B branch every 14 minutes Saturday mornings and every 12 minutes afternoons. They serve passengers at the stops every 16 minutes Sundays and holidays.

952 Lawrence West express

Starting Tuesday, October 9, express buses operate between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Lawrence Station. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at express stops every 11 to 12 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

989 Weston express

Starting Tuesday, October 9, express buses operate between Steeles Avenue West and Keele Station. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at express stops every 12 minutes Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours and every 10 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

Adding a new branch to a route


12D Kingston Rd

Starting Tuesday, October 9, the TTC will try out a new rush-hour branch of the route to provide continuous service along Kingston Road. Buses along the new branch operate MOndays to Fridays only during rush hours between the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus and Victoria Park Station.

During morning rush hours, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the new branch every 30 minutes. They serve passengers every 25 minutes during rush hours. The TTC says that “Overall, service levels on [the entire] route will remain largely unchanged between Victoria Park Station and Brimley Road.”

Increasing service along routes


The TTC is increasing the frequency of service to reduce overcrowding along various routes.

11 Bayview

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

24 Victoria Park

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays after about 10 p.m.: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes.

25 Don Mills (Steeles - Don Mills Station)

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stope every 4 to 5 minutes, instead of every 6 minutes.

26 Dupont

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays from about 2 until 3 p.m.

39 Finch East

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays before about 6 a.m.: A westbound buses operates on a new trip along the 39A (Neilson - Finch Station) leaves Neilson at about 5:05 a.m. Buses along the 39B (Old Finch and Morningview - Finch Station) branch also start their eastbound trips at Old Finch Avenue and Morningview Trail to allow passengers to board the buses at the start of the eastern loop.

54 Lawrence East

Starting Saturday, October 13 - Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops east of Lawrence Avenue East / Scarborough Golf Club Road every six to seven minutes, instead of every eight minutes.

63 Ossington

Starting Saturday, October 13 - Saturdays after about 10 p.m.: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops every 8 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes.

95 York Mills (effective October 13, 2018)

Starting Saturday, October 13 - Saturdays before about 10 p.m.: Before noon, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops west of the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus every seven minutes, instead of every nine minutes. From about noon until 7 p.m., buses serve passengers at the stops every six to seven minutes, instead of every seven minutes. From about 7 until 10 p.m., the TTC introduces new service along the 95B branch (U of T Scarborough - York Mills Station). Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops west of the campus every seven to eight minutes, instead of every ten minutes.

102 Markham Rd

Starting Saturday, October 13 - Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m.: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 9 to 10 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes.

109 Ranee

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at common stops along the route every 11 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes.

112 West Mall

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes.

129 McCowan North

Starting Saturday, October 13 - Saturdays before about 7 p.m.: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops south of Steeles Avenue East every six to seven minutes, instead of every nine minutes, before about noon. They serve passengers at the stops every six minutes, instead of every seven minutes from about noon until 7 p.m.

131 Nugget

Starting Saturday, October 13 - Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m.: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 14 minutes, instead of every 18 minutes.

925 Don Mills express

Starting Tuesday, October 9 - Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours: Buses drop off or pick up passengers at express stops along the route every 7 to 8 minutes, instead of every 8 minutes.


Resuming regular service after construction


Streetcar tracks at Dundas Street West / Lansdowne Avenue

  • 47 Lansdowne (starting November 4);
  • 402 Parkdale community bus (starting November 4);
  • 505 Dundas (started October 1).

Bus terminal at Lawrence West Station

  • 52 Lawrence West (starting October 7);
  • 59 Maple Leaf (starting October 7);
  • 109 Ranee (starting October 7); and
  • 400 Lawrence Manor community bus (starting October 9).

Yonge Street between Finch and Sheppard Avenues

  • 97 Yonge

Buses operate along three branches:

  • 97A (York Mills Station to Davisville Station via Yonge Boulevard) - All times except Mondays to Fridays during rush hours — Starting Sunday, October 7.
  • 97B (York Mills Station to Queens Quay via Yonge Boulevard) - Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours — Starting Tuesday, October 9.
  • 97F (Steeles to Davisville Station) - All day, every day - Starting Sunday, October 7.

The TTC says, “The scheduled service frequency on this route along the different parts of Yonge Street will remain largely unchanged.”


Revising seasonal services


85 Sheppard East

Service to and from the Toronto Zoo Saturdays, Sundays and holidays reverts to regular service hours to match the regular closing time of the zoo at 4:30 p.m. Starting Saturday, October 13, the last buses along the 85D (Rouge Hill GO Station - Don Mills Station via Toronto Zoo) and 85F (Toronto Zoo - Don Mills Station) branches leave the Zoo at about 5:30 p.m.

86 Scarborough

Sunday, October 7 is the last day this year that the TTC operates buses to and from the Toronto Zoo Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses operate to and from the zoo Mondays to Fridays only.

92 Woodbine South

Extra summer service ends and regular service resumes.

121 Fort York - Esplanade

Thanksgiving, Monday, October 8 is the last day this year that buses operate to and from Cherry Beach and Ontario Place. Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses operate only along the regular route between the Distillery District and Exhibition Place.

175 Bluffer’s Park

Saturday, October 6 is the last day this year that buses operate along the route.

509 Harbourfront

Extra summer service ends and regular service resumes.
