Storm sewer, water-main, starting October 9

Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue the project to build a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway — along Yonge Street in Richmond Hill between 19th Avenue / Gamble Road and Highway 7.

As part of ongoing construction activity to widen the roadway, crews are installing a storm sewer at Levendale Road and a water main at Bernard Avenue / Canyon Hill Avenue this week.

From 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 9 until 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 10 and from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday, October 11, crews are installing a storm sewer

  • on Yonge Street at Levendale Road.

The first night, traffic flows only on the west side of the street. The second night, traffic flows only on the east. Crews backfill and pave the work area and reopen all traffic lanes by 7 a.m. each day.

York Region Transit may temporarily relocate bus stops. Passengers aboard buses along these routes can also expect delays:

  • Viva blue “A”;
  • 98/99 Yonge night; and
  • 99 Yonge.
