The annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon totally disrupts all transit services in downtown and central Toronto Sunday, October 21 morning and afternoon.

The City of Toronto is closing

  • Bay Streetbetween Queen and Dundas Streets West, from 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20 until 8 p.m. Sunday, October 21; and between Queen Street West and Lake Shore Boulevard West from 4 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday; and between Lake Shore Boulevard West and Queens Quay West from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday (northbound lanes are open between Harbour Street and Union Station GO Bus Terminal for GO buses).

It’s also closing many other streets at various times from 4 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday to accommodate the annual event, including:

  • Adelaide Street West between Simcoe and York Streets and between Sheppard and Yonge Streets;
  • Bathurst Street between Bloor Street West and Lake Shore Boulevard West;
  • Bayview Avenue — between Lower River and Mill Streets;
  • Bloor Street West between Bathurst and Bay Streets;
  • Carlaw Avenue between Eastern Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard East;
  • Cherry Street between Eastern Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard East;
  • Eastern Avenue between Carlaw Avenue and Front Street East;
  • Fort York Boulevard between Bathurst Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West;
  • Front Street East between Eastern Avenue and Church Street;
  • King Street West between York and Yonge Streets;
  • Lake Shore Boulevard East between Woodbine and Carlaw Avenues and between Parliament and Yonge Streets;

And, Exhibition Place is closing:

  • Canada Drive between Manitoba Drive and Princes’ Boulevard

from 1 until 4 p.m. as event organizers dismantle race infrastructure.

GO Transit and the TTC are detouring transit services during the event.

After 8 a.m. Sunday, October 21, while race participants occupy Bathurst Street, the TTC combines the route with the 505 Dundas route and splits both routes in two:

  • in the east end, streetcars operate between Main Street Station and Bay Street and between Bay Street and Broadview Station; and
  • in the west end, buses operate between Keele Station and Ossington Avenue and between Ossington and Dundas West Station.

These regular eastbound route 506 stops have no transit service after 8 a.m. Sunday, October 21, while race participants occupy Bathurst Street:

  • in High Park Loop,
  • on College Street at Crawford and Grace Streets, Euclid Avenue, Bathurst Street, across from Borden Street, at Augusta and Spadina Avenues, Beverley and McCaul Streets, University Avenue and Elizabeth and Bay Streets.

These regular westbound route 506 stops have no transit service after 8 a.m. Sunday, October 21, while race participants occupy Bathurst Street:

  • on College Street at Elizabeth Street, University Avenue, across from McCaul Street, at St George Street, Spadina Avenue, Major Street, Borden and Bathurst Streets, Euclid Avenue, Clinton, Grace and Crawford Streets, Ossington Avenue, Dovercourt Road, Havelock and Dufferin Streets, Brock and Lansdowne Avenues and

After participants clear Bathurst Street until 11 a.m. Sunday, October 21, the TTC continues to combine the route with the 505 Dundas route and splits both routes in two:

These regular eastbound route 505 stops have no transit service after 8 a.m. Sunday, October 21, while race participants occupy Bathurst Street:
