Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

Crews are conducting the first of a series civil works to reconstruct the pavement at intersections

  • on Eglinton Avenue East between Birchmount Road and Victoria Park Avenue

to support construction of future surface stops.

Crews work two consecutive weekends at each intersection. Due to the location of work zone, they can only work safely while the intersections with Eglinton East are closed:

  • Eglinton Square;
  • Thermos Road / Sinnott Road; and
  • Birchmount Road.

This weekend, Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4, they’re working at Eglinton Square, the site of the future O’Connor stop.

Starting 11 p.m. Friday, November 2, the City of Toronto is closing Eglinton Square to most traffic. It’s reopening the street to traffic 7 a.m. Monday, November 5, but crews continue to work in the area. The City is again closing the street from 11 p.m. Friday, November 9 until 7 a.m. Monday, November 12.

Crews work 24 hours a day while the street is closed.
