Free rides for seniors aboard Barrie Transit
every day in June

To recognize Seniors’ Month, seniors 65 years or older can ride Barrie Transit for free during June!

The introduction of free transit for seniors (65+) in June is intended to align with Seniors’ Month and provide the opportunity to attend various events throughout the month by using the transit system at no cost. Run errands, travel to medical appointments, shop for necessities, or connect with family and friends throughout the month!

Attend one of these FREE Barrie Transit Training sessions for Older Adults:

  • Tuesday, June 4, 10 a.m. until noon at Parkview Community Centre (189 Blake Street);
  • Friday, June 14, 1 until 3 p.m. at Allandale Recreation Centre (190 Bayview Drive);
  • Monday, June 17, 10 a.m. until noon at Parkview Community Centre (189 Blake Street); and
  • Wednesday, June 26, 1 until 3 p.m. at Allandale Recreation Centre (190 Bayview Drive).

Provide your feedback!

Transit staff are consulting seniors on whether free transit during the month of June is preferred over an alternative promotion such as one free day each week, year round. Seniors can provide feedback by taking a brief survey.
