GO closing Weston GO Station parking spots, starting June 3

Starting Monday, June 3, GO Transit is closing the passenger pick-up and drop-off (the “kiss ‘n’ ride”) and nine parking spots in the east parking lot at Weston GO Station. The closures support an ongoing project to build a new track and platform and other amenities.

GO plans to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Kitchener line as part of its GO Expansion Program (formerly regional express rail).

At Weston, Metrolinx and GO are planning to:

  • Build new north-side platform that includes heated shelters with canopies;
  • Build a fourth track to help it deliver more train service in the future;
  • Extend the tunnel with stairs and elevators leading to the new platform
  • Landscape around the station;
  • Install new signs throughout the station; and
  • Install electric services to accommodate electric trains in the future.

GO expects to open the new amenities by December 31, 2020.
