Sixth Line Oakville construction:
Oakville Transit detour starting June 3

Starting Monday, June 3, the Town of Oakville is closing

  • the intersection of Sixth Line with Sixteen Mile Drive and Wheat Boom Drive

to accommodate contractors who are connecting water services.

Oakville Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

OT is already detouring buses along the route during a long-term project to rebuild Dundas Streets West and East. Due to this construction, the transit agency revises the detour routing.

Construction at Sixth Line and Sixteen Mile / Wheat Boom and the Oakville Transit detour continue “for approximately one week” or until about June 9.

Construction on Dundas West and East and the long-term Oakville Transit detour continue until March 2020.

5 / 5A Dundas

From Monday, June 3 until Sunday, June 9, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Sixteen Mile and Janice Drives, then detour:

westward along Kaitting Trail to Sixth Line,
resuming their regular route southward along Sixth.

Eastbound buses continue to drop off or pick up passengers all stops.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.
