Eglinton Crosstown LRT - Mount Pleasant:
Concrete pour, June 19

Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.


From 5 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, crews are pouring concrete in the southeast work zone

  • at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East with **Mount Pleasant Road,

near the site of the future Mount Pleasant Station. The concrete form spart of the future station roof. Crews are setting up a concrete pump in the work zone and concrete trucks will stage on the south side of Eglinton east of Taunton Road.

To ensure continuity of the pour, the crews start pouring concrete early morning when traffic is lighter.

For transit passengers

  • The TTC has already relocated stops in the area and may temporarily further relocate stops near work zones.
  • Expect delays aboard buses along these routes:
  • 34 Eglinton East;
  • 51 Leslie;
  • 54 Lawrence East;
  • 56 Leaside;
  • 74 Mt Pleasant;
  • 141 Downtown / Mt Pleasant express;
  • 334 Eglinton East overnight;
  • 354 Lawrence East overnight.

For pedestrians

  • The north-south crosswalk on the west side of Mount Pleasant at Eglinton East remains closed.

For motorists

  • Work zones block traffic lanes on the south side of Eglinton East east and west of Mount Pleasant.
  • The south-side work zone on Eglinton East west of Mount Pleasant extends into the southbound lanes on Mount Pleasant.
  • Just one lane is available for traffic in both directions on the north side of Eglinton East east and west of Mount Pleasant.
  • Just one lane is available for traffic in both directions on the east side of Mount Pleasant north and south of Eglinton East.
  • You can’t turn in any direction at the intersection of Eglinton East / Mount Pleasant.
  • A work zone continues to block access to Rawlinson Avenue at Eglinton East.
  • You can’t turn left from northbound Taunton Road to westbound Eglinton East.

For nearby residents and business people

  • Expect noise.
