Bovaird Drive West construction affects Brampton Transit, GO service, starting July 16



Update — Thursday, October 31, 3:53 p.m.: Construction has ended and BT and GO buses have resumed regular service.


Update — Thursday, September 19, 10:26 a.m.: Contractor crews expand the work zone to block north-south through traffic at the intersection of Bovaird West with Brisdale Drive and Pertosa Drive. Brampton Transit is detouring buses along the 4A Chinguacousy via Brisdale and 212 St. Roch iRide high-school special routes.


Update — Saturday, September 14, 3:46 p.m.: Construction and the BT and GO delays continue until further notice.


Update — Tuesday, September 3, 9:01 a.m.: iRide service resumes today. Construction on Bovaird West affects service along the 212 St. Roch, 215 St. Thomas Aquinas and 216 David Suzuki iRide high-school special routes Monday-to-Friday school days.


Update — Monday, August 26, 9:35 p.m.: Construction on the south side of Bovaird West has ended. Eastbound buses have resumed regular service.


Update — Wednesday, August 7, 5:35 p.m.: Contractor crews expand the work zone Thursday, August 8 to block north-south through traffic at the intersection of Bovaird West with Edenbrook Hill Drive and Fletcher’s Creek Boulevard. Brampton Transit is detouring buses along the 25 Edenbrook route.


Tuesday, July 16, Region of Peel contractors start a project to resurface

  • Bovaird Drive West (Regional Road 107) between Worthington Avenue / Lake Louise Drive and Van Kirk Drive / Royal Orchard Drive.

Starting July 16, crews pave the eastbound lanes, between Lake Louse and Royal Orchard. Starting Wednesday, July 17, crews pave the westbound lanes, between Van Kirk and Worthington. Just one lane is available for traffic in each direction.

Brampton Transit may temporarily relocate bus stops near work zones. Passengers aboard BT buses along these routes can also expect delays:

  • 4 / 4A Chingaucousy;
  • 5 / 5A Bovaird;
  • 9 Vodden;
  • 104 Chingaucousy express; and
  • 505 Züm Bovaird.

Specifically, BT is relocating these eastbound stops:

  • Lake Louise Züm station (routes 4, 5 / 5A, 9, 104 and 505);
  • east of Pertosa Drive (routes 5 / 5A and 9);
  • Chinguacousy Züm station (routes 5 / 5A, 9 and 505);
  • beside #831 Bovaird East (Not in service); and
  • east of Fletchers Creek Boulevard (route 5 / 5A).

It’s also relocating these westbound stops:

  • McLaughlin Züm station (routes 5 / 5A and 505);
  • west of Edenbrook Hill Drive (routes 5 / 5A and 9);
  • Chinguacousy Züm station (routes 5 / 5A, 9 and 505);
  • east of Brisdale Drive (routes 5 / 5A, 9); and
  • Worthington Züm station (routes 4, 5 / 5A, 9, 104 and 505).

GO Transit may temporarily relocate bus stops near work zones. Passengers aboard GO buses along these routes can also expect delays:

  • 31 / 31A / 31E / 31F Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto; and
  • 33 / 33B / 33D / 33E / 33F Guelph / Georgetown / North York.

Specifically, GO is relocating these westbound stops to the median:

  • McLaughlin Road (routes 31, 33);
  • Chinguacousy Road (routes 31, 33); and
  • Worthington Avenue (routes 31, 33).

Construction on Bovaird Drive West and the resulting Brampton Transit and GO Transit service changes continue “for approximately 6 - 8 weeks” or until about September 14.
