Sixth Line Oakville construction:
Oakville Transit detour, starting July 29



Starting Monday, July 29, the Town of Oakville is closing

  • Sixth Line between Kaitting Trail and Dundas Street West

to accommodate a Region of Halton construction project.

Oakville Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

OT is already detouring buses along the route during a long-term project to rebuild Dundas Streets West and East. With this construction, the transit agency extends the detour routing.

Construction on Sixth Line and the Oakville Transit detour continue until August 2.

Construction on Dundas West and East and the Oakville Transit detour continue until March 2020.

From Monday, July 29 until about Friday, August 2, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Sixteen Mile Creek Drive and Sixth Line, then proceed:

eastward along Wheat Boom Drive; and then
southward along Ernest Applebe Boulevard to Dundas Street East,
resuming their regular route southward along Oak Park Boulevard.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Sixth Line at Kaitting Trail.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at all stops.
