GO Transit revises routes and services, November 2

GO Transit is revising its routes and services, starting Saturday, November 2.

Here are some of the highlights.

Weekend train service along the Stouffville line
  • Starting Saturday, November 2, GO offers passengers new weekend train service along the 71 Stouffville line. Weekend trains operate every hour between Mount Joy GO Station and Union Station with bus connections at Mount Joy GO to Uxbridge.
  • Some morning and evening trains start or end their trips in Lincolnville GO Station with bus connections to Uxbridge.
  • With the new weekend train service, GO is reducing and adjusting weekend service along the 70 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Markham and 71 Stouffville / Toronto bus routes.
  • The weekend trains are six coaches long.
Bus service to the future Confederation GO Station
  • Starting Saturday, November 2, buses along the 12 Niagara Falls / Burlington route serve passengers at the new Centennial Parkway / QEW Park and Ride carpool lot, the future site of Confederation GO Station. The new stop replaces the stop at the Nash Road / Barton Street Park & Ride which GO is removing. GO says the new location offers more parking and better highway access.
Reducing and adjusting bus services
  • GO says it’s “reducing and adjusting service on some bus routes to ensure we’re using our resources when and where they’re needed most.”
  • The schedule change affects these GO bus routes:
  • 21 Milton / Toronto;
  • 30 Kitchener / Brampton express;
  • 31 Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto;
  • 33 Guelph / Georgetown / North York;
  • 52 Oshawa / Highway 407;
  • 66 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / North York express; and
  • 67 Keswick / North York.
More double-decker buses
  • GO is now operating the larger buses along the 21 Milton / Toronto and 66 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / North York express routes. Due to the height of the double-deckers, route 66 buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops on Davis Drive, instead of at Newmarket GO Bus Terminal.
