Pickering GO Station: Metrolinx enhancing accessibility, starting March 16

Metrolinx is enhancing accessibility, communication features and cycling amenities at Pickering GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.

Starting the week of Monday, March 16, GO Transit is closing the walkway between the west tunnel and the station building while crews build a bike-storage room.

This means you won’t be able to access the south platform through the stairs and accessible ramp in the area. During construction, use the ramp and stairs east of the station building to access the south platform.

Metrolinx is planning construction on the east tunnel elevators later in the project.

At the end of the project, you’ll benefit from

  • New digital signs that will display schedule information;
  • A new bike station that will become part of our reserved bike program; and
  • Better elevators that improve reliability and make sure everyone has consistent access to the platform.

Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Lakeshore East line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
