Update — Friday, April 3, 1:31 p.m.: The SCTC further decreases service, starting Sunday, April 5.

Update — Friday, March 20, 10:29 a.m.: The SCTC restricts passengers to boarding buses only by the rear doors, starting Friday, March 20. This means service is free of fare.

Starting Monday, March 16, the St. Catharines Transit Commission is reducing its service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The transit agency is operating with Saturday schedules Mondays to Fridays at least until April 3.

According to a Commission news release, the change “still provides broad coverage of our service area with no reduction in the length of the service day.”

The SCTC is operating buses with Saturday schedules along these routes Monday-to-Friday daytime:

• 401 Hospital - Port Dalhousie;
• 402 Ontario Street;
• 404 Oakdale - Pen Centre;
• 406 Lake Street;
• 408 Grantham-Port Weller;
• 409 Geneva Street;
• 410 Glenridge - Pen Centre;
• 412 Vine Street;
• 414 Scott Street;
• 415 West St. Catharines;
• 416 Brock - Glenridge;
• 417 Bunting - Lakeshore;
• 418 Secord Woods;
• 420 Thorold - Pen Centre; and
• 421 Confederation-Brock.

Buses along these routes continue to operate with regular Monday-to-Friday schedules:

• 337 Crosstown; and
• 322 Thorold South.

The SCTC continues to operate with regular schedules Monday-to-Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

St. Catharines Transit is not reducing Paratransit service.

However, the Commission says that these areas have limited service due to the the fact that it’s temporarily cancelling regular Monday-to-Friday schedules:

• Hartzel Road between Rockwood Avenue and Queenston Street;
• Merritt Street between Thorold and Glendale Avenue;
• the Wembley Street area;
• Linwell Road between Niagara and Ontario Streets;
• Meadowvale Drive;
• St. Helena Street;
• the Facer Street community area.
