Starting Monday, March 23, Durham Region Transit modifying service to reflect less ridership demand and support the social distancing efforts that the Durham Region Health Department and the provincial and federal governments have recommended. DRT says, “These modifications will be in effect until further notice; the April 6 service change is postponed indefinitely.”

DRT is temporarily reducing service until further notice. Buses operate with “enhanced” Saturday schedules Mondays to Fridays. They continue to operate with regular Saturday and Sunday schedules weekends.

Starting Friday, March 20, DRT is launching a dedicated webpage - durhamregiontransit.com/COVID-19 - to help make sure passengers have the information they need to get where they need to go safely.

Starting today, Thursday, March 19, you can ride DRT buses free of fare.

Passengers board buses through the rear doors only. Passengers with mobility aids or otherwise requiring the ramp continue to use the front doors.

DRT will limit bus loads to support passengers’ social distancing practices.

Since Wednesday, March 18, DRT has closed its customer service centre at 110 Westney Road South in Ajax. Staff remain on-site to answer passenger inquiries and help with trip planning by phone and on-line.
