The City of Toronto is modifying and upgrading the storm- and sanitary-sewer system in the Weston area to reduce surface and basement flooding. This project also involves replacing the water main and City-owned portion of substandard water services and sanitary sewer laterals.

Starting 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, contractors work

  • on Wright Avenue between Pine and Jane Streets.

Crews are:

  • excavating the road and digging a trench to access and install the new sewers;
  • replacing City-owned water service pipes that do not meet City standards from the sewer and water mains to private-property lines; and
  • restoring all work areas with asphalt, concrete or grass when they’ve finished working underground.

The TTC is detouring buses along these routes, while the work zone blocks the roadway:

  • 32C Eglinton West via Trethewey; and
  • 79A / 79B Scarlett Rd.
