Update — Monday, June 8, 1:07 p.m.: Construction has ended and passengers can board and exit from all coaches. Also, Metrolinx has published photos of construction at Ajax GO Station.

Update — Friday, May 15, 9:09 a.m.: GO starts the second phase of the project Tuesday, May 19. Construction shifts to the west end of the platform.

Metrolinx is enhancing safety features at Ajax GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion project.

Starting Monday, April 27, GO Transit is closing the west end of the platform at the station, while crews install tactile yellow tiles on the platform edge.

This will change how you board and exit from trains.

At Ajax GO Station:

• Use the east side of the platform to board your train.
• Look for signs to show you where to wait on the platform.
• All pedestrian tunnels remain open during construction.

At Union Station:

• Listen to the announcements on your train. Not all coaches open doors at Ajax GO Station.
• If you are unsure, ask the customer service ambassador in the accessible coach for help.

At the end of construction, you’ll benefit from:

• New yellow tiles at the edge of the platform to remind you how far back to stand.
• New digital signage to help you stay in the know.
• Better elevators to improve reliability and make sure that the platform remains accessible.

GO is also revising the schedules for trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line to accommodate possible delays resulting from the construction project.

GO started installing digital signs in the station bus terminal and upgrading the elevators in January.

Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Lakeshore East line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
