Donlands Station "Easier Access" project: Bus loop closed, May 3

The TTC is continuing its “Easier Access” program to install elevators in its subway stations, making the subway system accessible for everyone. The program supports the Government of Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The provincial legislation commits the TTC to achieving a barrier-free transit system by 2025.

It’s also building second exits from stations with just one exit to increase passenger safety during emergencies.

At Donlands Station, contractors will be building the elevators and a second exit at the same time. The TTC expects to start construction this fall.

To prepare for future elevator construction at the station, Bell crews are trenching and installing fibre-optic cable with a hydro-vacuum truck in the station bus terminal Sunday, May 3, 2020 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The TTC is detouring buses along these routes, while the bus terminal is closed:

  • 56 Leaside; and
  • 83 Jones.
