King East Hamilton construction: HSR detour, May 3

From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, the City of Hamilton is closing

  • King Street East west of Wellington Street North,

as crews repair a water main.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 1 King.

From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, inbound buses operate along their regular route to King Street East and Wellington Street, then detour:

southward along Wellington South;
westward along Hunter Street East; and then
northward along John Street South to King East,
resuming their regular route westward along King.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on King Street East at Wellington Street North, Ferguson Avenue North and Walnut and Catharine Streets North.

Instead, inbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Hunter Street East at Spring Street, east of Walnut Street South and at John Street South and
  • on John Street South at Jackson Street East.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route.

Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
