Denison Street Markham construction: YRT detours, June 8, 9



From 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, June 8, the City of Markham is closing

  • Denison Street, eastbound lanes, between Esna Park Drive and Warden Avenue,

to accommodate contractors who are paving the roadway.

From 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, the City is closing

  • Denison Street, westbound lanes, between Birchmount Road and Warden Avenue,

also to accommodate contractors who are paving the roadway.

York Region Transit is detouring buses along this route both days:

  • 2 Milliken.

From 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, June 8, westbound buses operate along their regular route.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Esna Park Drive and Rodick Road / Alden Road, then detour:

northeastward along Alden;
eastward along McPherson Street; and then
southward along Warden Avenue to Denison Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along Denison.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Esna Park Drive south of Rodick Road / Alden Road [2 stops] and
  • on Denison Street east of Esna Park Drive [2 stops] and at Hood Road and Warden Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Alden Road east of Esna Park Drive / Rodick Road and Bentley Street and at McPherson Street and
  • on Warden Avenue across from #7303 Warden.

From 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Denison Street and Birchmount Road, then detour:

northward along Birchmount;
westward along McNabb Street; and then
southward along Warden Avenue to Denison Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Denison.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Denison Street west of Birchmount Road and at Warden Avenue.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Birchmount Road south of Micro Court and
  • on Warden Avenue across from #7303 Warden and at Denison Street.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route.
