Clark Avenue West Thornhill construction affects TTC, YRT services, starting "early June"

Starting “early June” (perhaps as early as Monday, June 15, City of Vaughan contractors start a project to install bike lanes on

  • Clark Avenue West, both sides, between Jason Street / David Lewis Drive and Yonge Street.

During the project, contractors also

  • improve transit stops;
  • improve intersection; and
  • rehabilitate and resurface the roadway.

Roads remain open during construction. The work zone may temporarily restrict traffic lanes to allow crews to proceed with construction activities.

Northbound TTC passengers aboard buses along this route can expect delays on Clark West between Atkinson Avenue and Bathurst.

  • 160 Bathurst North.

York Region Transit passengers aboard buses in both directions along these routes can also expect delays between Bathurst and Yonge Streets:

  • 5 Clark; and
  • 77 Highway 7.

YRT passengers can also expect delays in both directions between Atkinson and Hilda Avenues aboard buses along this route:

  • 23 Thornhill Woods.

Construction to install bicycle lanes and the resulting TTC and YRT service changes continue “until December” or until December 31.

Construction crews installed a new water main under Clark West between Bathurst and Yonge — affecting TTC and YRT services — in 2020.

Contractors return to Clark Avenue West in 2021 to repave the roadway and improve transit stops and intersections.
