Torbram Road construction affects Brampton Transit service, starting June 22

Starting Monday, June 22, City of Mississauga contractors are paving

  • Torbram Road between Highway 407 and Kimbel Street.

During paving, the work zone temporarily blocks Brampton Transit buses along the 14 / 14A Torbram route from dropping off or picking up passengers at stops in both directions.

Southbound buses may temporarily skip some of these stops until June 24:

  • on Torbram Road across from #7795 Torbram (Peel Waste Facility) (Stop #1317), north of Rena Road at #7600 Torbram (#6024), at Rena Road (#6025), and north of Kimbel Street (#6027).

Northbound buses may temporarily skip some of these stops:

  • on Torbram Road south of Kimbel Street (Stop #6020) and at #7795 Torbram (Peel Waste Facility) (#1277).

These southbound stops are closed throughout the construction period and all buses skip them until “the end of June” or until about June 30:

  • on Torbram Road north of Kimbel Street (Stop #6021) and at Rena Road (#6022).

These northbound stops are closed throughout the construction period:

  • on Torbram Road south of Kimbel Street (Stop #6020) and north of Rena Road at #7615 Torbram (#6023).

Paving the roadway is the last stage of a project to build two grade separations on Torbram Road. The grade separations are overpasses to carry the tracks of the Canadian National Railway’s Galt and Halton subdivisions over the roadway. GO Transit trains serving the 31 Kitchener line operate along the Galt Subdivision at this point.

Trains crossing Torbram on the two railway lines often delayed traffic in both directions. Mississauga worked with the City of Brampton on the project to build the bridges to eliminate the bottleneck.

The City has previously closed the roadway to accommodate the project, affecting Brampton Transit and MiWay service:
