Update — Tuesday, September 8, 8:21 a.m.: Construction to upgrade the ramp starts Tuesday, September 8.
Metrolinx is enhancing safety features at Port Credit GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion project.
Starting Tuesday, August 4, GO Transit is closing 15 parking spaces in the southwest lot near Stavebank Road North, so crews can store construction material. They’re getting ready for an upcoming project to:
- install tactile yellow tiles at the edge of the train platforms;
- upgrade elevators that connect the middle platform to the south platform;
- add an accessible ramp to the west end of the south platform; and
- upgrade the accessible ramp to the east end of the south platform.

Crews will start the project by installing the yellow safety tiles. The new tactile tiles not only enhance accessibility, but also indicate to passengers how far back from the edge they need to stand.
Then, crews will upgrade the elevators that connect the island and south platform.
During this project, you may have to change where you board or exit from trains at Port Credit. GO expects to complete the project “in late 2021” or by December 31, 2021.
