Metrolinx is enhancing safety features at Port Credit GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.
During various projects at the station, they’re
- installing tactile yellow tiles at the edge of the train platforms (now underway);
- upgrading elevators that connect the middle platform to the south platform;
- adding an accessible ramp to the west end of the south platform (underway); and
- upgrading the accessible ramp to the east end of the south platform (underway).
GO Transit recently finished repairing the train platforms. Starting Tuesday, October 27, crews are installing tactile yellow safety tiles on the north side of the island platform overnight nightly. The tiles remind passengers how far back to safely stand from the edge of the platfrom. This will not affect how you board or exit from trains at Port Credit.
When crews have completed the north side of the island platform, they’ll start working on the south side.
GO says, “Please be careful around construction equipment until work is complete on the island platform”. Construction continues until “winter 2021” or until March 31, 2021.

Since Tuesday, August 4 GO has closed 15 parking spaces in the southwest lot near Stavebank Road North, so crews can store construction material for ongoing construction at Port Credit GO.
Since Tuesday, September 8 GO has closed the east ramp near the station building. You can access the station building through the front entrance, which is fully accessible. During this project, crews are widening the ramp to provide more space when you use it.
GO expects construction on this project to continue until “later this fall” or until November 30.
Since Monday, September 14, GO has been building a new accessible ramp connecting the bus terminal to the south train platform. This temporarily affects how you access buses at the station.
The work zone blocks platform 8 in the terminal. MiWay is relocating the stop for northbound buses along the 8 Cawthra route and eastbound buses along the 23 Lakeshore route to platform 5.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Lakeshore West line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
