TTC revises routes and services, starting December 20



The TTC’s next service change focuses on reopening the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station after Metrolinx construction for the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.

Starting Sunday, December 20, construction reaches a point where buses can again drop off or pick up passengers in the station terminal.

The TTC is revising service along these routes that usually operated through the terminal:

  • 32 Eglinton West;
  • 63 Ossington; and
  • 109 Ranee.

It’s also cancelling this temporary route:


Due to fewer riders boarding buses resulting from social distancing and lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, the TTC continues to suspend service along these express routes:

  • 903 Kennedy - Scarborough Centre express;
  • 924 Victoria Park express;
  • 925 Don Mills express;
  • 937 Islington express;
  • 939 Finch express;
  • 944 Kipling South express;
  • 953 Steeles East express;
  • 960 Steeles West express;
  • 984 Sheppard West express;
  • 985 Sheppard East express;
  • 989 Weston express; and
  • 995 York Mills express.

The TTC continues to suspend service along these routes due to the pandemic:

  • 40A Junction - Dundas West — The TTC continues to cancel service along the short-turn branch to and from Jane Street Mondays to Fridays. Buses continue to serve the branch Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses continue to operate along the 40B branch to and from Kipling Station during all time periods, except overnight.
  • 73A Royal York - The TTC continues to cancel service along the short-turn branch to and from Knob Hill Drive and Oak Street Mondays to Fridays. Buses continue to operate along the 73C branch to and from Humberline Drive via Albion Road during all time periods except overnight.
  • 176 Mimico GO shuttle;
  • 508 Lake Shore.

Streetcars continue to operate along the entire 501 Queen route between Long Branch and Neville Park routes at all times.


The TTC is revising service along these routes: 32 Eglinton West; 51 Leslie; 56 Leaside; 63 Ossington; 109 Ranee; 163 Oakwood; 363 Ossington overnight.

Cancelling a route


163 Oakwood

Saturday, December 19 is the last day that buses operate along the route. Since the TTC is restoring bus service to Eglinton West Station terminal, it’s cancelling temporary route 163. Starting Sunday, December 21, buses along the 63A Ossington and 109 B / 109C Ranee routes again operate to and from the terminal.

Southbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Lawrence West Station bus terminal,
  • on Marlee Avenue across from Fairholme Avenue, beyond Wenderly Drive and Glengrove Avenue West, at Glencairn Avenue, beyond Viewmount Avenue and at Stayner, Ridelle, Roselawn, Whitmore and Livingstone Avenues,

Resuming service along a branch of a route


63A Ossington

Starting Sunday, December 20, the TTC resumes service along the 63A branch of the route between Eglinton West Station bus terminal and Liberty Village. By restoring the branch, the TTC can replace part of the temporary 163 Oakwood route that it operated during Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station.

Buses operate along the 63A branch of the route during all time periods, except overnight.

Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m., the TTC bolsters service along the route south of St. Clair Avenue West / Oakwood Avenue by operating short-turn buses along the 63B branch of the route.

The TTC temporarily cancelled route 63A service starting Sunday, March 29 due to the construction.

During all time periods, except overnight, southbound buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue West at Marlee Avenue and
  • on Oakwood Avenue beyond Eglinton Avenue West, at Clovelly Avenue, beyond Vaughan Road, at Jesmond Avenue and Rogers Road, beyond Earlsdale Avenue and at Earnscliffe Road and Glenhurst Avenue.

Northbound buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Oakwood Avenue beyond St. Clair Avenue West, at Glenhurst Avenue, across from Earnscliffe Road, at Earlsdale Avenue, across from Rogers Road, at Jesmond Avenue, Vaughan Road, Clovelly Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West,
  • on Eglinton Avenue West across from Marlee Avenue and
  • in Eglinton West Station bus terminal.

The TTC again splits service into two branches:

  • 63A branch: Buses operate at all times of the week, except overnight between Eglinton West Station and Liberty Village.
  • 63B branch: Buses operate Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m., but only south of St. Clair Avenue West.

The TTC temporarily cancelled route 63A service starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station. It also operated buses along the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

  • on Eglinton Avenue West at Henning Avenue, across from Lascelles Boulevard and Braemar Avenue, at Castle Knock Road and Heddington Avenue, across from Russell Hill and Spadina Roads, at Vesta Drive, Old Forest Hill, Hilltop and Old Park Roads and between Park Hill Road and Fairleigh Crescent.

The TTC temporarily revised route 32 service starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station. During the construction period, buses along all three branches dropped off or picked up passengers at stops on the street, instead of in the terminal. The TTC also extended buses along the 32D branch to start and end their trips in Eglinton Station terminal, instead of Eglinton West.

Starting Sunday, December 20, the TTC extends the path so that most buses along route 63 again operate to and from the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station, replacing part of the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

It also splits service into two branches again:

  • 63A branch: Buses operate at all times of the week, except overnight between Eglinton West Station and Liberty Village.
  • 63B branch: Buses operate Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m., but only south of St. Clair Avenue West.

With this change, the TTC decreases the hours of service along the 63B branch, so that buses no longer operate all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and after 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

The TTC temporarily cancelled route 63A service starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station. It also operated buses along the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

  • every 5 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 11 minutes, from about 8 a.m. until noon;
  • every 5 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 11 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m.;
  • every 8 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • every 8 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes, after about 10 p.m.

Buses also serve passengers south of Ossington Station more frequently than previously Mondays to Fridays.

Starting Monday, December 21, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • every 5 minutes, instead of every 5½ minutes, during morning rush hours;
  • every 6 minutes, instead of every 7½ minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
  • every 5 minutes, instead of every 7 minutes, during afternoon rush hours; and
  • every 8½ minutes, instead of every 7½ minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.

The TTC also provides less frequent service to passengers at stops on another part of the route.

The TTC is extending the path so that buses again operate to and from the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station, replacing part of the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

Buses along route 109 operate along the separate 109B “via Flemington” and 109C “via Varna” branches. They drop off or pick up passengers at common stops, where buses serving both branches operate and at unique stops, where buses along just one of the branches operate. Common stops are north of Ranee Avenue / Varna Drive and south of Flemington Road / Varna Drive. *Unique stops are between Ranee / Varna and Flemington / Varna*.


Starting Sunday, December 20, buses drop off or pick up passengers at unique stops:

  • every 50 minutes, instead of every hour, every day after about 7 p.m.

The buses serve passengers at common stops north of Lawrence West Station:

  • every 25 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, every day after about 7 p.m.

The TTC temporarily shortened route 109 starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station.

The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service during other time periods.

  • every 5 minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 42 seconds, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
  • every 6 minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 15 seconds, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
  • every 5 minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 45 seconds, during afternoon rush hours;
  • every 7½ minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 45 seconds, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • every 6 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, January 2, 2021, buses serve passengers:

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 6 minutes 15 seconds, Saturdays before about 8 a.m.;
  • every 5 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes 11 seconds, from about 8 a.m. until noon;
  • every 5 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes 3 seconds, from about noon until 7 p.m.;
  • every 8 minutes, instead of every 5 minutes 15 seconds, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • every 8 minutes, instead of every 5½minutes, after about 10 p.m.

The TTC temporarily cancelled route 63A service starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station.

The TTC is extending the path so that buses again operate to and from the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station, replacing part of the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

Buses along route 109 operate along the separate 109B “via Flemington” and 109C “via Varna” branches. They drop off or pick up passengers at common stops, where buses serving both branches operate and at unique stops, where buses along just one of the branches operate.   • every 30 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about 8 a.m. until noon.

Starting Monday, December 21, the buses serve passengers at the stops:

  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes, Mondays to Fridays before about 3 p.m.; and
  • every 13 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, during afternoon rush hours.

Starting Sunday, December 20, buses drop off or pick up passengers at common stops south of Lawrence West Station:

  • every 30 minutes, instead of every 11 minutes, from about 8 a.m. until noon;
  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 11 minutes from about noon until 7 p.m.;
  • every 25 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • every 25 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Monday, December 21, buses serve passengers at stops:

  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes 20 seconds, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
  • every 13 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes 50 seconds, during afternoon rush hours;
  • every 25 minutes, instead of every 15½ minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • every 25 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, January 2, 2021, buses serve passengers:

The TTC temporarily revised service along the 32D branch of the 32 Eglinton Westroute starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station. During the construction period, the TTC extended buses along the branch to start and end their trips in Eglinton Station terminal, instead of Eglinton West.

It also revised the path for buses along routes 51 and 56A to provide a temporary platform for route 32D to drop off or pick up passengers.

Starting Sunday, December 20, the TTC returns buses along route 32D to their permanent terminal at Eglinton West Station and route 51 and 56A buses resume their regular path into Eglinton Station terminal. The buses enter the terminal along Eglinton Avenue West and Duplex Avenue, instead of Yonge Street and Berwick Avenue.

Inbound buses (heading toward the terminal) operate along their usual routes, then proceed: s westward along Eglinton Avenue West; and then
southward along Duplex Avenue and into Eglinton Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.

Outbound buses (heading away from the terminal) continue to operate along their usual routes.

Starting Sunday, December 20, the TTC extends the path so that buses again operate to and from the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station.

During all time periods, except overnight, southbound buses start their trips in Eglinton West Station bus terminal, then proceed:

westward along Eglinton Avenue West; and then
southward along Oakwood Avenue to St. Clair Avenue West,
continuing along their regular route southward along Oakwood.

Southbound buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Eglinton West Station terminal,
  • on Eglinton Avenue West at Marlee Avenue and

Northbound buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Oakwood Avenue beyond St. Clair Avenue West, at Glenhurst Avenue, across from Earnscliffe Road, at Earlsdale Avenue, across from Rogers Road, at Jesmond Avenue, Vaughan Road, Clovelly Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West,
  • on Eglinton Avenue West across from Marlee Avenue and
  • in Eglinton West Station bus terminal.

The TTC again splits service into two branches:

  • 63A branch: Buses operate at all times of the week, except overnight between Eglinton West Station and Liberty Village.
  • 63B branch: Buses operate Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m., but only south of St. Clair Avenue West.

The TTC temporarily cancelled route 63A service starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station. It also operated buses along the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

The TTC is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along different parts of the route.

109B / 109C Ranee

Starting Sunday, December 20, the TTC extends the path so that buses again operate along Marlee Avenue and to and from the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station.

During all time periods, except overnight, southbound buses operate along their usual route to Lawrence West Station bus terminal, then proceed:

westward along Lawrence Avenue West;
southward along Marlee Avenue;
eastward along Eglinton Avenue West; and then
northward into Eglinton West Station bus terminal.

Southbound buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Lawrence West Station bus terminal,
  • on Marlee Avenue across from Fairholme Avenue, beyond Wenderly Drive and Glengrove Avenue West, at Glencairn Avenue, beyond Viewmount Avenue and at Stayner, Ridelle, Roselawn, Whitmore and Livingstone Avenues and
  • in Eglinton West Station bus terminal.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound routing.

The TTC temporarily cancelled route 109 service south of Lawrence West Station starting Sunday, March 29 due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line at Eglinton West Station. It also operated buses along the temporary 163 Oakwood route.

The TTC is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route during different time periods.

363 Ossington overnight

With the end of Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line, buses again operate through Eglinton West Station bus terminal.

Starting Monday, December 21, the first southbound bus along the 363 Ossington overnight route also starts its trip in the terminal. After 2 a.m., buses continue to operate only on the streets, diverting from Eglinton West Station along Vaughan Road, Northcliffe Boulevard, and Eglinton Avenue West to accommodate ongoing overnight construction at the station.

The route 363 detour has been in effect since February, 2019.
