TTC adds service to and from Amazon Fulfillment Centre, starting January 11



Starting Monday, January 11, the TTC is diverting buses along the 53B Steeles East route to directly serve the Amazon Fulfillment Centre on Passmore Avenue.

Mondays to Fridays:
  • The first eastbound bus from Finch Station arrives at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre at about 6 a.m.
  • Buses operate about every six minutes before 10 p.m. and every 10 minutes after 10 p.m.
  • The last westbound bus leaves the Amazon Fulfillment Centre at about 2 a.m.
Saturdays:
  • The first eastbound bus from Finch Station arrives at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre at about 6:35 a.m.
  • Buses operate about every 20 minutes before about 8 a.m., every 5 to 10 minutes from about 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. and every 20 minutes after about 10 p.m.
  • The last westbound bus leaves the Amazon Fulfillment Centre at about 1:45 a.m.
Sundays and holidays:
  • The first eastbound bus from Finch Station arrives at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre at about 8 a.m.
  • Buses operate about every 6-10 minutes before about 7 p.m. and every 20 minutes after about 7 p.m.
  • The last westbound bus leaves the Amazon Fulfillment Centre at about 1:30 a.m.

Trip planning not available until March 28.

Also, to serve workers with early-morning shifts at the facility, the TTC will operate extra buses to connect passengers aboard buses along the the 353 Steeles overnight route to the Amazon facility. These extra buses operate from about 4 until 6 a.m. and connect with eastbound buses along the 353 Steeles East route trips at Tapscott Road and Steeles Avenue East. These buses reduce passenger travel time to the facility and improve pedestrian safety in the area.

53B Steeles East

During most time periods, except during afternoon rush hours and overnight, westbound buses start their trips at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre, then proceed:

westward along Passmore to Tapscott Road,
resuming their regular route westward along Passmore.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Tapscott Road and Passmore Avenue, then proceed:

eastward along Passmore to the Amazon Fulfillment Centre,
ending their trips.

During afternoon rush hours, westbound buses start their trips at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre, then proceed:

westward along Passmore to Tapscott Road,
resuming their regular route northward along Tapscott.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Passmore Avenue and Tapscott Road, then proceed:

eastward along Passmore to the Amazon Fulfillment Centre,
ending their trips.

Overnight, the TTC does not operate buses to and from the Amazon site from about 1 until 4 a.m. From 4 until 6 a.m., it operates extra buses.

Extra buses

From 4 until 6 a.m. daily, extra westbound buses start their trips at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre, then proceed:

westward along Passmore Avenue;
northward along Markham Road; and then
eastward along Steeles Avenue East to Tapscott Road,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips on Steeles Avenue East west of Tapscott Road, then proceed:

southward along Tapscott; and then
eastward along Passmore Avenue to the Amazon Fulfillment Centre,
ending their trips.
