Mortimer Avenue construction: TTC detour, starting February 8



Update — Thursday, June 10, 11:02 p.m.: Construction on Mortimer Avenue and the resulting TTC detour continue until July 2.


Update — Thursday, May 6, 8:38 a.m.: Construction on Mortimer Avenue and the resulting TTC detour continue until June 11.


Update — Friday, April 9, 11:26 a.m.: Construction on Mortimer Avenue and the resulting TTC detour continue until May 7.

Update — Thursday, February 18, 12:24 p.m.: Construction on Mortimer Avenue and the resulting TTC detour continue until March 3.


Starting Monday, February 8, the City of Toronto is closing:

  • Mortimer Avenue between Pape and Broadview Avenues,

while contractors replace the water main and the City-owned portion of substandard water services.

northward along Pape;
westward along Cosburn Avenue; and then
southward along Broadview Avenue to Mortimer Avenue / Pottery Road,
resuming their regular route southward along Broadview.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mortimer Avenue at Carlaw, Logan and Burley Avenues.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Pape Avenue at Floyd Avenue,
  • on Cosburn Avenue beside #80 Cosburn and at Logan Avenue and
  • on Broadview Avenue across from Cosburn Avenue and at Hillside Drive.

Also expect the TTC to set up a temporary stop near the intersection of Pape and Cosburn Avenues, possibly on the north side of Cosburn west of Pape.

Eastbound buses reverse the westbound detour routing.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mortimer Avenue beyond Broadview Avenue, across from Burley Avenue, at Logan Avenue, beyond Carlaw Avenue and at Pape Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Broadview Avenue beyond Mortimer Avenue and at Bater Avenue,
  • on Cosburn Avenue beyond Broadview Avenue, at Logan Avenue, beside #75 Cosburn and at Pape Avenue and
  • on Pape Avenue at Floyd Avenue.

Also expect the TTC to set up a temporary stop near the intersection of Pape and Mortimer Avenues, possibly on the south side of Mortimer east of Pape.
