TTC removing overhead wiring near Queen West / King West / Queensway / Roncesvalles

From 10 p.m. Monday, February 15 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 16 and continuing overnight nightly, TTC crews are removing the overhead streetcar wiring on various streets as part of the ongoing City of Toronto / TTC project to replace the tracks and upgrade the streetscape

  • at the intersection of Queen Street West / King Street West / The Queensway / Roncesvalles Avenue.

Crews work overnight to remove the wiring on:

  • King Street West between The Queensway / Queen Street West and west of Triller Avenue;
  • Queen Street West between Roncesvalles Avenue / King Street West to west of Triller Avenue;
  • The Queensway between Parkside Drive and Roncesvalles Avenue / King Street West; and
  • Roncesvalles Avenue between south of the entrance to the TTC’s Roncesvalles Carhouse and The Queensway / Queen Street West.

During this activity, traffic continues to flow and TTC buses along the 301L / 501L / 501P Queen routes continue to operate with regular service. However, the work zone may temporarily block traffic lanes, delaying motorists and TTC passengers. The location of the moving work zone may prevent left turns at the Queen West / King West / Queensway / Roncesvalles intersection.

TTC crews continue removing the overhead wiring “until early April”, meaning as late as until April 10.
