The TTC is making minor changes to its services, starting Sunday, February 14.
Due to fewer riders boarding buses resulting from social distancing and lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, the TTC continues to suspend service along these express routes:
- 141 Downtown / Mt Pleasant express;
- 142 Downtown / Avenue Rd express;
- 143 Downtown / Beach express;
- 144 Downtown / Don Valley express;
- 145 Downtown / Humber Bay express;
- 924 Victoria Park express;
- 944 Kipling South express;
- 989 Weston express.
The TTC continues to suspend service along these routes due to the pandemic:
- 40A Junction - Dundas West — The TTC continues to cancel service along the short-turn branch to and from Jane Street Mondays to Fridays. Buses continue to serve the branch Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Buses continue to operate along the 40B branch to and from Kipling Station during all time periods, except overnight.
- 176 Mimico GO shuttle;
- 508 Lake Shore.
The TTC continues to suspend service along this route due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line:
- 103 Mt Pleasant North.
As a pilot project, the TTC continues to combine route 503 service with the former 502 Downtowner route, as it has since September 9, 2019.
The TTC is revising service along these routes: Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway; 9 Bellamy; 509 Harbourfront; 510 Spadina; 512 St Clair; and 913 Progress express.
Specifically, the TTC is: increasing service along a route; decreasing service along a route; increasing the frequency of service along a route; decreasing the frequency of service along routes; and revising the paths for buses along routes.
Increasing service along routes
9 Bellamy
The TTC is revising the path so that buses operate along Progress Avenue between Consilium Place / Grangeway Avenue and Bellamy Road.
Starting Sunday, February 14, southbound buses serve passengers at new stops
- on Grangeway Avenue at Progress Avenue and
- on Progress Avenue across from #750 Progress and at Bellamy Road.
Northbound buses serve passengers at new stops
- on Progress Avenue beyond Corporate Drive and beside #700 Progress.
Note that buses along the 9 Bellamy route previously operated along this section of Progress Avenue from March 23, 1985 until November 21, 1993.
Decreasing service along routes
9 Bellamy
The TTC is revising the path so that buses operate along Progress Avenue between Consilium Place / Grangeway Avenue and Bellamy Road.
Starting Sunday, February 14, southbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on McCowan Road north of Progress Avenue,
- on Corporate Drive across from #88 Corporate and Lee Centre Drive (west) and at Progress Avenue.
TTC buses along other routes continue to serve passengers at these stops
- McCowan: 129 McCowan North; 130 Middlefield; 131 Nugget; 132 Milner; 134 Progress; 169 Huntingwood; and 302 Kingston / McCowan overnight.
- Corporate: 134 Progress.
Northbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on Corporate Drive beyond Progress Avenue, at Lee Centre Drive [west] and beside #88 Corporate and
- on Consilium Place beside #100 Consilium.
TTC buses along other routes continue to serve passengers at these stops
- Corporate; Consilium: 134 Progress.
Increasing the frequency of service along a route
510 Spadina
The TTC is both increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along different parts of the route to match rider demand Mondays to Fridays. All streetcars operate between Spadina and Union stations Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m., instead of alternate cars turning in Spadina / Queens Quay Loop.
Starting Tuesday, February 16, the cars drop off or pick up passengers at stops east of Lower Spadina Avenue / Queens Quay West:
- every 7 minutes, instead of every 8 minutes 45 seconds, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
- every 7½ minutes, instead of every 9 minutes 45 seconds, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
- every 7 minutes, instead of every 9 minutes 40 seconds, during afternoon rush hours; and
- every 7 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 10 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.
Decreasing the frequency of service along routes
2 Bloor - Danforth subway
The TTC is decreasing the frequency of service along the line to match rider demand Mondays to Fridays.
Starting Tuesday, February 16, trains drop off or pick up passengers at stations:
- every 4 minutes, instead of every 3 minutes 45 seconds, before about 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays; and
- every 7 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 6 minutes after about 7 p.m.
509 Harbourfront
The TTC is decreasing the frequency of service along the route to match rider demand Monday-to-Friday daytime.
Starting Tuesday, February 16, streetcars drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route:
- every 8 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 6 minutes 15 seconds, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours; and
- every 9½ minutes, instead of every 8 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
510 Spadina
The TTC is both increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along different parts of the route to match rider demand Mondays to Fridays. All streetcars operate between Spadina and Union stations Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m., instead of alternate cars turning in Spadina / Queens Quay Loop.
Starting Tuesday, February 16, the cars drop off or pick up passengers at stops north of Lower Spadina Avenue / Queens Quay West:
- every 7 minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 22 seconds, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
- every 7½ minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 52 seconds, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
- every 7 minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 50 seconds, during afternoon rush hours; and
- every 7 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 5 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.
512 St Clair
The TTC is decreasing the frequency of service along the route to match rider demand Monday-to-Friday before about 10 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, February 16, streetcars drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route:
- every 6 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 5 minutes, Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m.; and
- every 8 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 7½ minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m.
Revising the paths for buses along routes
9 Bellamy
The TTC is revising the path so that buses operate along Progress Avenue between Consilium Place / Grangeway Avenue and Bellamy Road.
Starting Sunday, February 14, southbound buses operate along their usual route to Triton and McCowan Roads, then proceed:
southward along McCowan;
eastward along Busby Drive;
northward along Grangeway Avenue; and then
eastward along Progress to Corporate Drive / Bellamy Road,
resuming their usual route southward along Bellamy.Southbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on McCowan Road north of Progress Avenue,
- on Corporate Drive across from #88 Corporate and Lee Centre Drive (west) and at Progress Avenue.
TTC buses along other routes continue to serve passengers at these stops
