McRae Drive Leaside construction: TTC detour, starting March 1



Starting Monday, March 1, the City of Toronto is closing:

  • McRae Drive between Airdrie and Millwood Roads,

as crews modify and upgrade the storm- and sanitary-sewer systems in the area to reduce basement flooding.

Crews are:

  • excavating the road and digging a trench to access and install the new sewers;
  • replacing City-owned water service pipes that do not meet City standards from the sewer and water mains to private-property lines; and
  • restoring all work areas with asphalt, concrete or grass when they’ve finished working underground.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

Construction on McRae Drive and the resulting TTC detour continue until March 12.


88A South Leaside via Overlea

From Monday, March 1 until Friday, March 12, westbound buses operate along their regular route to McRae Drive at Airdrie Road, then detour:

southward along Airdrie to Millwood Road,
resuming their regular route southeastward along Millwood.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on McRae Drive at Rumsey Road and
  • on Millwood Road beyond McRae Drive.
88B South Leaside via Wicksteed

From Monday, March 1 until Friday, March 12, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Sutherland Drive and Millwood Road, then detour:

northward along Sutherland to McRae Drive,
resuming their regular route northeastward along McRae.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Millwood Road at McRae Drive and
  • on McRae Drive at Rumsey Road and Sutherland Drive.
