GO replacing Lakeshore West trains with buses east of Port Credit, late April 1 until April 4

From 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1 until the end of service Easter, Sunday, April 4, GO Transit is suspending train service between Union Station and Port Credit GO Station along the Lakeshore West line “due to critical work” to upgrade its rail infrastructure.

GO says, “This construction work is part of important upgrades to aged rail infrastructure. These upgrades will improve train speeds, service life and reliability, allowing us to provide better service to you in the future.”

From late Thursday evening until early Easter Monday, Monday, April 5, GO operates express buses between Union Station Bus Terminal and Port Credit GO Station bus terminal. Trains continue to operate between Port Credit and Aldershot GO stations throughout the weekend.

After 7:30 p.m. Thursday, expect to experience a 50- to 55-minute delay if you’re transferring between trains. All day, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, eastbound trains leave Union Station 25 minutes later than regular train times. Expect a 50- to 55-minute delay to connect.

Passengers with accessibility needs can access the south platform at Port Credit GO Station by using the accessibility ramp beside the passenger drop-off and pick-up area or “Kiss and Ride”.

Parking is limited at Port Credit GO Station, due to Metrolinx construction for the Hurontario light rail transit project. You can park at the previous stop on the line — at Clarkson GO Station — or the next stop — Long Branch GO Station.

Passengers with bicycles should note that opportunities to bring bikes on the buses are fewer. Buses can only accommodate two bikes each.

  • The last train bound for Union Station arrives at Long Branch, Mimico and Exhibition GO stations at 7:37, 7:44 and 7:50 p.m.
