Cummer Avenue construction: TTC detour, starting May 25



Update — Thursday, June 3, 7:05 p.m.: Construction on this part of Cummer Avenue and the resulting TTC detour continue until June 18.


Starting Tuesday, May 25, the TTC is closing

  • Cummer Avenue between Silverview Drive and Yonge Street

to accommodate contractors who are installing a water main and sanitary and storm sewers.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 42 Cummer.

(Updated — Thursday, June 3, 7:05 p.m.) From 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 25 until 6 p.m. Friday, June 4 June 18, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Cummer and Willowdale Avenues, then detour:

southward along Willowdale;
westward along Bishop Avenue; and then
southward into Finch Station terminal,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Cummer Avenue at Willowdale Avenue, across from Silverview Drive and at Yonge Street.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Willowdale Avenue beyond Cummer Avenue, at Silverview Drive, across from Revcoe Place and at Bishop Avenue.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Yonge Street at Drewry Avenue / Cummer Avenue, then detour:

northward along Yonge;
eastward along Wedgewood Drive; and then
southward along Willowdale Avenue to Cummer Avenue,
resuming their regular route eastward along Cummer.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Cummer Avenue beyond Yonge Street and at Silverview Drive and Willowdale Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Yonge Street at Cummer Avenue.
