Special events affecting transit services this weekend — Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20 — take place in the Georgetown area of Halton Hills, the Lindsay area of Kawartha Lakes and Toronto.

Downtown Georgetown Farmers Market

Saturday mornings until October 16, the Town of Halton Hills is closing

  • Main Street South Georgetown between James and Church Streets

to accommodate the Georgetown Central Business Improvement Area’s weekly market.

GO Transit is detouring buses while the street is closed.

31A Guelph / Georgetown / Toronto bus

From 6:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Main and Guelph Streets (Provincial Highway 7) and then proceed:

southeastward along Guelph to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route southwestward along Guelph.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Main Street South beyond George Street.

Eastbound passengers may board buses at the previous stop on Main Street North beyond Moore Park Crescent or the next stop on Guelph Street beyond Mill Street.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Main Street South at Cross Street.

Westbound passengers may board buses at the previous stop on Guelph Street beyond Mill Street or the next stop on Main Street North beyond Moore Park Crescent.

Lindsay Farmers Market

Saturday mornings until October 24, the City of Kawartha Lakes is closing

  • Victoria Avenue North between Peel Street and Kent Street West

during the weekly market.

Lindsay Transit is detouring buses while the street is closed.

Green route

From 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, inbound buses operate along their regular route to Victoria Avenue North and Peel Street, then detour:

eastward along Peel Street;
southward along Cambridge Street North; and then
westward along Kent Street West to Victoria Avenue North,
resuming their regular route westward along Kent West.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route.

Toronto


ActiveTO

ActiveTO is a City of Toronto program to make sure people have space to get around, while respecting physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Weekends, the City is closing parts of several major roadways near popular recreational trails like the Martin Goodman Trail and the Lower Don Trail, which often become overcrowded, especially during warmer weekends.

From 6 a.m. Saturdays until 9 p.m. Sundays, the City is closing

  • Lake Shore Boulevard East, eastbound lanes, between Leslie Street and Woodbine Avenue

and other roadways near recreational trails.

The TTC is detouring buses, while the streets are closed.

92 Woodbine South

From 6 a.m. Saturday, June 19 until 9 p.m. Sunday, June 20, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Lake Shore Boulevard East at Northern Dancer Boulevard, ending their trips.

Southbound buses skip their regular stop

  • in Woodbine Beach Loop.

Northbound buses start their trips on Lake Shore Boulevard East at Northern Dancer Boulevard, then proceed:

westward along Lake Shore East;
northward along Coxwell Avenue;
east- and northeastward along Eastern Avenue; and then
eastward along Queen Street East to Woodbine Avenue,
resuming their regular route northward along Woodbine.

Northbound buses skip their regular stop

  • in Woodbine Beach Loop.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Eastern Avenue at Queen Street East and
  • on Queen Street East at Sarah Ashbridge Avenue.
