Subway closes early, Kipling to Islington: June 25

2021 - 06-25 - Kipling to Islington.jpg

The TTC is closing Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway earlier than usually between Kipling and Islington stations this Friday, June 25. Line 2 trains operate only between Islington and Kennedy stations after 11 p.m. that evening.

Frequent shuttle buses partly replace subway service between the two stations. TTC staff will direct you to shuttle-bus stops at both stations. Both stations remain open so you can pay fares or connect with TTC or MiWay buses.

Although shuttle buses are accessible, Wheel-Trans service is also available. However, since Islington station is not yet accessible, westbound passengers who need an elevator must exit the subway at Royal York Station. Ask TTC staff for information about Wheel-Trans stops and service at Kipling and Royal York stations.

While this section of Line 2 is closed, crews are maintaining the signals.

The TTC is closing this section of Line 2 once more in June:

  • Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27 — Kipling to Jane — signal maintenance.
