Update — Thursday, September 9, 7:36 a.m.: Contractors are installing tiles on the west side of platforms 3 and 4, starting September 13.
Metrolinx continues to improve safety and amenities at Oakville GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.
Starting Monday, July 5, GO Transit contractors are installing tactile yellow safety tiles on the west side of all platforms to remind you how far back to stand. This temporarily changes how you board your train.

Travelling from Oakville GO Station:
- The west side of all platforms will be closed for construction.
- Use the east tunnel to access the train platforms. The west tunnel remains open but the stairs to the platforms from the tunnel are closed.
- From the parking garage or south lot, walk to the north side of the station and access the platforms through the east tunnel.
- For faster access to the platform, arrive at the station on the north side.
- Look for signs to show you where to stand and remember to spread out along the platform to help keep everyone safe.
- The accessible ramp will still be available to those who need to board the accessible coach.

- The graphic below shows you where to stand on the platform.
Crews continue installing safety tiles on the west side of platforms at Oakville GO Station until further notice. When they finish the west side, they start working on the east side.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Lakeshore West line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
