Cherry Street construction: TTC detour, starting July 14



Update — Friday, August 20, 6:30 p.m.: Enbridge construction on Cherry Street and the resulting TTC detour continue until October 1.


Starting 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Cherry Street north of Lake Shore Boulevard East

to accommodate a construction project by Enbridge Gas.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 121D Fort York - Esplanade.

(Updated — Friday, August 20, 6:30 p.m.) From 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 until 5 p.m. Monday, August 22 Saturday, October 1, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Cherry Street and Lake Shore Boulevard West, then detour:

westward along Lake Shore East; and then
northward along Parliament Street to Mill Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Parliament.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street beyond Cherry Street and at Trinity and Parliament Streets.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Front Street East and Parliament Street, then detour:

southward along Parliament; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard East to Cherry Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Cherry.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Front Street East at Cherry Street and
  • on Cherry Street beyond Mill Street.
