Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.
From 8 p.m. Monday, July 26 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 27 and continuing overnight nightly, the City of Toronto is closing
- Eglinton Avenue West, westbound lanes, between Black Creek Drive and Weston Road
near the future Mount Dennis Station, so that contractors can install hydrants and connect “wet” utilities as part of the LRT project.
Overnight westbound traffic-lane closure and the resulting TTC detours continue until August 13 (6 a.m.)
(“Wet” utilities means water and sewer lines.)
For transit passengers
The TTC is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:
It’s also temporarily detouring bus stops:
- the stop on the west side of Back Creek Drive north of Eglinton Avenue West to the west side of Black Creek south of Eglinton West (routes 32, 71, 171 and 332); and
- the stop on the north side of Eglinton east of Weston Road to
- the east side of Weston south of Eglinton (route 171) ; or
- the north side of Eglinton west of Weston (routes 32 and 332).
For pedestrians
- a work zone blocks the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton between Weston and Black Creek — walk on the south side.
- a work zone blocks the crosswalk on the east side of Weston at Eglinton — cross on the west side.
- work zones block crosswalks on both sides of Black Creek at Eglinton.
- a work zone blocks the crosswalk on the north side of Eglinton at Black Creek — cross on the south side.
For motorists
- Overnight from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., work zones block all but one single eastbound lane on Eglinton between Weston and Black Creek.
- a work zone blocks the centre traffic lanes on Eglinton west of Weston.
- work zones block northbound curb lanes on Weston north and south of Eglinton.
- work zones block southbound curb lanes on Black Creek north and south of Eglinton.
- westbound motorists on Eglinton must turn left or right onto Black Creek Drive.
- southbound motorists on Black Creek may continue through the intersection with Eglinton, or turn left. Work zones block right turns.
- northbound motorists on Black Creek may continue through the intersection with Eglinton, or turn right. Work zones block left turns.

- on Eglinton Avenue West beyond Black Creek Drive,
- on Weston Road beyond Eglinton Avenue West and at York and Dennis Avenues.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
