Starting 5 a.m. Monday, August 9, the City of Toronto is closing
- Heathrow Drive between Jane Street and Chesham Drive
to accommodate a project to upgrade the storm sewers and water mains, part of the City’s basement flooding-protection program.
Crews are:
- excavating the road and digging a trench to access and install the new sewers;
- replacing City-owned water service pipes that do not meet City standards from the sewer and water mains to private-property lines; and
- restoring all work areas with asphalt, concrete or grass when they’ve finished working underground.
The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:
- 120 Calvington.
Construction on Heathrow Drive and the resulting TTC detour continue until August 23.

From 5 a.m. Monday, August 9 until 5 p.m. Monday, August 23, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Jane Street and Chalkfarm Drive / Heathrow Drive, then detour:
southward along Jane;
eastward along William Cragg Drive;
northeastward along Smallwood Drive; and then
east- and northward along Chesham Drive to Heathrow,
resuming their regular route northward along Chesham.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Heathrow Drive beyond Jane Street, across from Datchett Road and at Chesham Drive.
Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on Jane Street beyond Chalkfarm Drive.
Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.
Westbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Heathrow Drive at Datchett Road and Jane Street.
Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
