Wellesley West crane activity: TTC detour, August 21



From 6 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Saturday, August 21, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Wellesley Street West between Queen’s Park Crescent East and Bay Street,

to accommodate contractors who are lifting a crane at a construction site.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 94A Wellesley.

From 6 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Saturday, August 21, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellesley Street West and Queen’s Park Crescent East, then detour:

southward along Queen’s Park East and Queen’s Park;
eastward along Bloor Street West; and then
southward along Bay Street to Wellesley West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Wellesley.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Wellesley Street West beside the Ontario Legislature, beyond Queen’s Park Crescent East and at Bay Street.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen’s Park Crescent East at St. Joseph Street,
  • on Queen’s Park beyond Charles Street West,
  • on Bloor Street West at Bay Street and
  • on Bay Street beyond Charles Street West and at St. Joseph Street.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellesley Street West and Bay Street, then detour:

northward along Bay;
westward along Bloor Street West; and then
southward along Queen’s Park to Queen’s Park Crescent,
resuming their regular route southward along Queen’s Park Crescent West.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Wellesley Street West at Queen’s Park Crescent East.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Bay Street beyond St. Joseph Street and at Charles Street West and
  • on Queen’s Park across from Charles Street West.
