No subway service, September 4 and 5: Kipling to Islington

The TTC is closing Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway between Kipling and Islington stations all day Saturday, September 4 and Sunday, September 5. Line 2 subway trains operate only between Islington and Kennedy Stations those days.

Frequent shuttle buses partially replace subway service.

Both stations remain open so you can pay fares and connect with TTC, GO Transit and MiWay buses. As Islington is not yet an accessible station, if you’re travelling westbound along Line 2 and require an accessible connection, exit the train at Royal York Station and ask any TTC customer service employee for directions or help.

While this section of Line 2 is closed, TTC crews are maintaining the signals. According to a TTC news release, “While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and [signal] upgrades.”
