The TTC is making several changes to its services, Sunday, September 5. It’s adjusting service along many routes to respond to different ridership numbers since the start of pandemic and on-going Government of Ontario reopening plans. It’s improving service levels along routes with higher or increasing numbers of passengers. This applies the new guidelines for planning capacity that the TTC’s board approved in the 2021 annual service plan.

Express-service improvements
In accordance with the 2020 and 2021 annual service plan, the TTC is introducing new express service, changing the route structure, revising service levels, or modifying the days and periods of service along several routes.
- 929 Dufferin express: New service periods - Saturday mornings and afternoons.
- 938 Highland Creek express: new route between the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus and Scarborough Centre Station. Buses operate Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours - eastbound during morning rush hours and westbound afternoons.
- 939 Finch express: New service period along the 939A (Finch West Stn - Scarborough Centre Stn) branch of the route - Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
- 941 Keele express: New service period - Monday-to-Friday midday (from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.)
- 960 Steeles West express: New service periods - Monday-to-Friday midday (from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.) and early evenings (from about 7 until 10 p.m.) Also, buses operate to and from Highway 27 before 7 p.m. and to Martin Grove Road after about 7 p.m. Buses west of Pioneer Village Station drop off or pick up passengers at all local stops.
Service restoration
The TTC is resuming service along parts of its network that it temporarily cancelled during the pandemic.
- 510 Spadina: Streetcars again operate along the 510A branch of the route (Spadina Stn - Union Stn) Mondays to Fridays.
- 925 Don Mills express: Buses again operate along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
- 939 Finch express: Buses again operate along the 939A (Finch West Stn - Scarborough Centre Stn) branch of the route the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
- 944 Kipling express: Buses again operate along the route Monday-to-Friday daytime (before about 7 p.m.)
- 985 Sheppard East express: Buses again operate along 985A (Don Mills Stn - Scarborough Centre Stn) branch of the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Service increases
The TTC is expecting that more passengers will again travel in its buses, streetcars and trains this month, so it’s increasing service along many routes.
- Line 1 Yonge - University subway: All day Mondays to Fridays.
- Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway: All day Mondays to Fridays.
- 7 Bathurst: All day every day.
- 47 Lansdowne: Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
- 52 Lawrence West: Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m.
- 54 Lawrence East: Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours.
- 63 Ossington: Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m.
- 75 Sherbourne: Mondays to Fridays before about 3 p.m.
- 102 Markham Rd:
- 102A branch (Progress - Warden Stn): Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m.
- 102B branch (Steeles - Warden Stn): Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m.
- 106 Sentinel: All day every day.
- 107 York University Heights: Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
- 129 McCowan North: Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
- 134 Progress: Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
- 510 Spadina: All day Mondays to Fridays.

Schedule / service / route adjustments
- 29 Dufferin: Less frequent service Saturday mornings and afternoon due to the introduction of new service during that time along the 929 Dufferin express route.
- 38 Highland Creek: Service resumes along the 38A (U of T Scarborough - Scarborough Centre Stn) branch of the route Monday-to-Friday midday and during afternoon rush hours. New service during morning rush hours. Due to the introduction of the new 938 Highland Creek express route, buses operate westbound during morning rush hours and eastbound afternoons.
- 41 Keele: Service with regular-size buses resumes. Due to lower capacity, buses operate more frequently during most time periods.
- 60 Steeles West: Due to changes along the 960 Steeles West express route, the TTC cancels the 60D (Highway 27 - Finch Stn) branch of the route and cancels service Mondays to Fridays from 7 until 10 p.m. along the 60B (Martin Grove - Finch Stn) branch of the route.
- 107 York University Heights: Service resumes along Supertest Road, Flint Road and Martin Ross Avenue.
- 941 Keele express: Service with articulated buses starts. Due to higher capacity, buses operate less frequently Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m.
Revisions to services due to construction projects
- With the end of construction in the bus terminal at Royal York Station, buses again operate to and from the terminal along these routes:
- The TTC is partially closing the bus terminal at Davisville Station for six weeks. Buses along these routes drop off or pick up passengers on the street near the terminal:
Service decreases
Community-bus service revisions
- 400 Lawrence Manor: The TTC is extending service into Lawrence Heights, but reducing service hours to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only from about 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Service levels change from every 75 minutes to every 90 minutes.
- 402 Parkdale: The TTC revises the path so that buses operate into Dundas West Station along Dundas Street West and Bloor Street West, and no longer serve passengers on Wallace Avenue and Lansdowne Avenue north of Dundas West. It’s reducing the service hours to Tuesdays and Fridays only from about 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., but increasing the frequency from every 90 minutes to every hour.
- 404 East York: The TTC is extending service from Victoria Park Avenue and Gerrard Street East (FreshCo) south to Kingston Road, but removing service between west of Victoria Park Avenue and Gerrard Street East and Queen Street East.
- 405 Etobicoke: The TTC is extending service to Islington Avenue and Dixon Road and to the West Park Healthcare Centre. Buses operate Mondays to Fridays, from about 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Service is more frequent - every 75 minutes, instead of every 90 minutes.
Due to fewer riders boarding buses resulting from social distancing and lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, the TTC continues to suspend service along these express routes:
- 141 Downtown / Mt Pleasant express;
- 142 Downtown / Avenue Rd express;
- 143 Downtown / Beach express;
- 144 Downtown / Don Valley express; and
- 145 Downtown / Humber Bay express.
The TTC continues to suspend service along these routes due to the pandemic:
- 176 Mimico GO shuttle;
- 508 Lake Shore.
The TTC continues to suspend service along this route due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line:
- 103 Mt Pleasant North.
As a pilot project, the TTC continues to combine route 503 service with the former 502 Downtowner route, as it has since September 9, 2019.

1 Yonge - University subway
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the line all day Mondays to Fridays.
Starting Tuesday, September 7, trains drop off or pick up passengers in stations on the line every 3½ minutes, instead of every 3 minutes 45 seconds, before about 7 p.m. They serve passengers in stations every 3½ minutes, instead of every 5 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m. And, they serve passengers every 5 minutes, instead of every 7 minutes, after about 10 p.m.
2 Bloor - Danforth subway
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the line all day Mondays to Fridays.
Starting Tuesday, September 7, trains drop off or pick up passengers in stations on the line every 3 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes, before about 7 p.m. They serve passengers in stations every 6 minutes, instead of every 7 minutes 15 seconds, after about 7 p.m.
7 Bathurst
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the route all day every day.
Starting Sunday, September 5, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 8 to 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, every day during most time periods.
14 Glencairn
The TTC is closing the bus terminal at Davisville Station for six weeks to accommodate remedial construction work for the driveway project it completed in 2019.
Starting Sunday, September 5, buses along route 14 drop off or pick up passengers on the street near Davisville Station. The TTC interlines the buses with the 28 Bayview South route during the project. That means that after stopping on the street near the station, eastbound buses along route 14 then complete a round trip along route 28 before returning to the station area. They then continue westbound along route 14.
15 Evans
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC reopens the bus terminal at Royal York Station. Buses along the route drop off or pick up passengers in the terminal, instead of the temporary stop on Royal York Road. The TTC no longer interlines the buses with the 48 Rathburn route.
28 Bayview South
The TTC is closing the bus terminal at Davisville Station for six weeks to accommodate remedial construction work for the driveway project it completed in 2019.
Starting Sunday, September 5, buses along route 28 drop off or pick up passengers on the street near Davisville Station. The TTC interlines the buses with the 14 Glencairn route during the project. That means that, after stopping on the street near the station, northbound buses along route 28 then complete a round trip along route 14 before returning to the station area. They then continue southbound along route 28.
29 Dufferin
Since the TTC is introducing new periods of express service along the 929 Dufferin express route, it’s also reducing service levels along route 29 Saturday mornings and afternoons, starting Saturday, September 11. Overall, it’s improving service levels along the Dufferin corridor.
30 High Park
Starting Sunday, September 4, the TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along this route every day to help improve on-time performance. It’s increasing service levels daytime and early evenings.
38 Highland Creek
Since in-person classes are resuming at the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus, the TTC is reinstating service along the 38B (U of T Scarborough - Scarborough Centre Stn) branch of the route Mondays to Fridays midday and during afternoon rush hours. It’s also introducing new service along the branch Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.
As part of the 2021 Annual Service Plan, the TTC is introducing new express service between U of T Scarborough and Scarborough Centre Station during rush hours. Morning rush hours, buses along the 938 Highland Creek express route operate eastbound only toward U of T. Afternoon rush hours the express buses operate westbound only, toward Scarborough Centre Station. Buses operate along the 38B branch of the route in the opposite direction from buses along route 938 during rush hours.
39 Finch East
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route all day every day to help improve on-time performance. Service levels remain the same throughout the day.
41 Keele
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC deploys regular 12-metre (40-foot) buses along the route. Since the buses carry fewer passengers than articulated buses, they TTC offer passengers more frequent service than usual during most time periods.
47 Lansdowne
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route all day every day to help improve on-time performance.
Since it expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours, starting Tuesday, September 7.
48 Rathburn
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC reopens the bus terminal at Royal York Station. Buses along the route drop off or pick up passengers in the terminal, instead of the temporary stop on Royal York Road. The TTC no longer interlines the buses with the 15 Evans route.
52 Lawrence West
Due to demand exceeding regular service levels, the TTC is supplementing service along the route with more vehicles Mondays to Fridays from about 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. Starting Tuesday, September 7, it operates more service along the 52A (Lawrence Stn - Pearson Airport) and 52G (Lawrence Stn - Royal York) branches of the route.
54 Lawrence East
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route all day every day to help improve on-time performance.
Since it expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours, starting Tuesday, September 7.
60 Steeles West
Since the TTC is introducing new periods of express service along the 960 Steeles West express route, it’s replacing service along the 60D (Finch Stn-Highway 27) and 60B (Finch Stn-Martin Grove) branches of the route by new express service Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m. Overall, it’s improving service levels on the Steeles West corridor.
It’s cancelling all service along the 60D branch and service Mondays to Fridays from 7 until 10 p.m. along the 60B (Martin Grove - Finch Stn) branch of the route.
63 Ossington
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route all day every day to help improve on-time performance.
Since it expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m. starting Tuesday, September 7.
73 Royal York
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC reopens the bus terminal at Royal York Station. Buses along the route drop off or pick up passengers in the terminal, instead of the temporary stop on Royal York Road. The TTC no longer interlines the buses with the 76 Royal York South route.
75 Sherbourne
Since in-person classes are resuming at George Brown College’s St. James and Waterfront campuses, the TTC is increasing service along the route Mondays to Fridays before about 3 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, September 7, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 5 to 6 minutes, instead of every 7 minutes. Morning rush-hour service continues until 11 a.m. Midday service starts at 11 a.m. and buses serve passengers at stops every 7 to 8 minutes, instead of every 9 minutes.
76 Royal York South
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC reopens the bus terminal at Royal York Station. Buses along the route drop off or pick up passengers in the terminal, instead of the temporary stop on Royal York Road. The TTC no longer interlines the buses with the 73 Royal York route.
92 Woodbine South
Since fewer passengers travel to and from Woodbine Beach and Ashbridge’s Bay parks during autumn, the TTC is cancelling seasonal extra service along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Labour Day, Monday, September 6 is the last day for this extra service.
94 Wellesley
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the route all day every day, starting Sunday, September 5.
96 Wilson
Due to an error Monday-to-Friday schedule, some trips along the route 96 Wilson, from about 4:50 until 6 a.m., are not visible on-line for trip planning purposes, starting Tuesday, September 7.
The TTC says that buses continue to drop off or pick up passengers every 10-15 minutes and will resolve the issue in the October 11, 2021 schedule.
99 Arrow Rd
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces in September, it’s increasing service along the route all day every day, starting Sunday, September 5.
102 Markham Rd
Since in-person classes are resuming at Centennial College’s Progress campus, the TTC is resuming service along the 102A (Progress - Warden Stn) branch of the route Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m., starting Tuesday, September 7.
It continues to operate extra buses along the 102B (Steeles - Warden Stn) branch, it says, “to serve essential workplaces north of Sheppard Avenue [East].”
Also starting Tuesday, September 7, the TTC slightly reduces service along the 102B branch Mondays to Fridays after about 10 p.m. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the branch every 10 minutes, instead of every 9 minutes.
106 Sentinel
Since in-person classes are resuming at York University’s Keele campus, the TTC is increasing service along the route all day every day.
107 York University Heights
Starting Tuesday, September 7, the TTC is introducing two new branches of the route (107C, 107D). Buses along the new branches operate Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours and drop off or pick up passengers at stops on Supertest Road, Flint Road and Martin Ross Avenue to provide direct connection to the essential employment area near Alness Street. The TTC removed service to this area in May.
Also, since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces in September, it’s increasing service along the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours, it says, “to better match capacity to demand.”
124 Sunnybrook
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the route all day Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays.
129 McCowan North
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the route all day every day.
134 Progress
Since in-person classes are resuming at Centennial College’s Progress campus, the TTC is increasing service along the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours, starting Tuesday, September 7. It’s also operating an extra 18-metre (60-foot) articulated bus along the route during those times.
315 Evans - Brown’s Line overnight
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC reopens the bus terminal at Royal York Station. Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 6, buses along the route operate to and from the terminal, instead of the terminal at Islington Station.
400 Lawrence Manor community bus
Starting Wednesday, September 8, the TTC is extending service into Lawrence Heights along Blossomfield Road, Flemington Road and Varna Drive, but reducing service hours. Buses operate Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only from about 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The TTC is also reducing service levels, with buses dropping off or picking up passengers at stops on the route every 90 minutes instead of every 75 minutes.

Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route all day every day to help improve on-time performance.
510 Spadina
Starting Tuesday, September 7, the TTC restores service along the 510A (Spadina Station-Union Station) branch of the route Mondays to Fridays before about 10 p.m. Streetcars along Lower Spadina and Spadina Avenues north of Queens Quay West drop off or pick up passengers at stops every four to five minutes. Cars between Union Station and Lower Spadina Avenue / Queens Quay West serve passengers every eight to ten minutes.
512 St Clair
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the route every day before about 10 p.m.
Starting Sunday, September 5, streetcars drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 5 minutes before about 7 p.m. and every 7 to 8 minutes from about 7 until 10 p.m.
900 Airport express
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to Toronto Pearson International Airport in September, it’s increasing service along the route all day every day, starting Sunday, September 5.
902 Markham Rd express
Since the TTC expects more passengers are returning to workplaces and schools in September, it’s increasing service along the route Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m., starting Tuesday, September 7.
913 Progress express
Since in-person classes are resuming at Centennial College’s Progress campus, the TTC is increasing service along the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours, starting Tuesday, September 7. It’s also operating an extra 18-metre (60-foot) articulated bus along the route during those times.
927 Highway 27 express
Since in-person classes are resuming at Humber College’s North campus, the TTC is increasing service along 927C (Kipling Stn-Humber College via Attwell Express) branch of the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours, starting Tuesday, September 7.
It’s also resuming service along the 927A (Kipling Stn - Humber College) branch of the route. Extra northbound buses leave Kipling Station Mondays to Fridays at 9, 9:10, 9:30, 9:50, 10:10 and 10:30 a.m.
929 Dufferin express
Starting Saturday, September 11, the TTC is increasing service hours to include Saturday mornings and afternoons. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 8 to 9 minutes.
As a result of this change, the TTC is also decreasing local service along the 29 Dufferin route during the same time periods. Overall, it’s improving service levels along the Dufferin corridor.
938 Highland Creek express
Starting Tuesday, September 7, the TTC is introducing new express service between the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus and Scarborough Centre Station Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours.
During morning rush hours, buses along the route operate eastbound only, toward the campus. Afternoons, buses operate westbound only, toward Scarborough Centre Station. Local buses along the 38B branch (Scarborough Centre Stn - U of T Scarborough) of the 38 Highland Creek route operate in the opposite direction to buses along route 938 during rush hours.

939 Finch express
Starting Sunday, September 5, the TTC resumes Saturday, Sunday and holiday service along the 939A (Finch West Stn - Scarborough Centre Stn) branch of the route.
Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the branch every 6 to 8 minutes mornings and afternoons and every 10 minutes early evenings.
941 Keele express
Starting Tuesday, September 7, the TTC is increasing service hours to include Monday-to-Friday midday (from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.)
Also, the TTC starts operating 18-metre (60-foot) articulated buses along the route. Due to higher capacity, buses operate less frequently Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m.
944 Kipling South express
Since in-person classes are resuming at Humber College’s Lakeshore campus, the TTC is resuming service along the route Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m., starting Tuesday, September 7. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 7 to 9 minutes.
960 Steeles West express
Starting Tuesday, September 7, the TTC is increasing service hours to include Monday-to-Friday midday (from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.) and early evenings (from about 7 until 10 p.m.)
It’s also extending the path for buses — to Highway 27 during daytime and to Martin Grove Road evenings. Daytime express service replaces local service along the 60D branch (Finch Stn-Hwy 27) of the [60[(#t60) Steeles West route and the 60B branch (Finch Stn-Martin Grove) early evenings. The TTC says, “This change will provide a faster trip for [passengers] travelling from west of Pioneer Village Station to Finch Station, and reduce transfers for Steeles West customers.” Buses along route 960 drop off or pick up passengers at all local stops west of Pioneer Village Station.
