Oakville GO Station: Platform and boarding changes, starting September 13

Metrolinx continues to improve safety and amenities at Oakville GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.

Starting Monday, September 13, GO Transit contractors are installing tactile yellow safety tiles on the east side of platforms 3 and 4 to remind you how far back to stand. This temporarily changes how you board your train.

Travelling from Oakville GO Station:

  • The east side of platforms 3 and 4 is closed for construction.
  • Not all coaches open doors at Oakville during construction.
  • The east tunnel, the elevator and stairwells remain open. Follow the pedestrian path to get to the west side of platforms 3 and 4 to board your train.
  • From the parking garage or south lot, walk to the north side of the station and access platforms 1 and 2 through the east tunnel.
  • For faster access to the platform, arrive at the station on the north side.
  • Look for signs to show you where to stand and remember to spread out along the platform to help keep everyone safe.
  • The accessible ramp will still be available to those who need to board the accessible coach.
